Tom I have an e-collar and still working on the heel with my 1yrd old Rott I have trained other dogs in my past both mine and friends to heel and walk on loose leash My challange with my Rott is that he is never looking up at me when we get outside how can I get him to actually pay attention and look to me for guidance?

What do I do if my spouse strongly disagrees that our puppy who is only 5 months old and already 30 pounds in weight (his parents were a malamute (mom) and a pitbull/rottweiler mixed(dad))dont need to learn the heel command and refuses to listen to me when I tell my spouse to stop letting him off leash when he takes the puppy out because he isnt learning to listen to me on leash and he is so big already he pulls me pretty hard and is getting very leash reactive because he is not learning to be on it because my spouse dont think I'm correct about the heel commandthe not allowing him off leash until he can listen and behave on one first and is older and listens to all commands first brAny suggestions on what to do to prove to my spouse he is ruining our puppy by thinking iam wrong !!!!!
