Is nose breathing good for VO2max tests like Cooper test? Or should you perhaps do something like first half of the run nose breathing (to keep the pace slow so you don't go too fast, they say to ease into the run - I never manage to do this) - and the second half mouth breathing? But of course, everyone can test for themselves which one works better in their runs - try doing the test with nose breathing vs do the test mouth breathing, and different variations of the two like full run mouth breathing vs half run mouth breathing etcbrbrEdit: looks like the 3rd breathing method presented in the video is probably the optimal way to breathe for a cooper test Perhaps use mouth breathing only for the sprinting portion of the run (perhaps last 200 meters of the run or whatever) Excellent! I will definitely be testing these out, thank you so much! Comment from : Pupper |

There is no way I could breathe only through my nose during high intensity runs Because I have somewhat chronic blockage in my sinuses (not been diagnosed, but healthcare these days doesnt care enough to check for "minor" problems like these) I could try light jogging while breathing only through the nose but my muscles are used to much more air than that at once Comment from : RCmies |

I cannot do zone training I am always in zone 4 by default I could be running a ten minute mile pace and my heart rate would still be around 170 once I level off That’s 90 of what my max heart rate should be at my age It’s 85 of what a 20 years old would be Idk why my heart rate gets that high but I can sustain that pace for a long time Don’t know exactly how long, but I ran 5 miles at that pace last week with that heart rate and still had more in me So idk wtf is wrong with me if anything at all tbh Comment from : Michael Vega |

It is VERY difficult to control your breathing in zone 4/5 I do 4 steps, inhale; 4 steps exhale both mouth and nose simultaneously Once zone 5 hits, it's very, very, hard I push myself though because I think about the benefits that come with consistency Comment from : drumma4lyfe06 |
