i just switched out the stock power cord to a Kimber power cord you can buy an adaptor for the female end of the Kimber that will interface with the Node 2i for about $10 or you can get an Audioquest power cord that will match the Nodes a/c input big improvement

I just plugged mine into my Panamax power conditioner Immediate improvement and no expensive upgrade needed Clean power is all you need

What are the advantages of the newer PSU? Both are SMPS based, only the newer one is non-isolated (no high freq transformers) You must do before and after measurements to be able to claim that you have improved anything Besides, the Node 2i DAC is crap You better off getting a good external DAC instead

Thanks for the lead on this! I've ordered the low noise interface from PD creative, and took a chance on the Allo Shanti LPS All said and done, about $280 USD to the door Definitely worth a shot for that price! Will report back once I get it all and install

If you do this MOD and have to buy and external (S)PSU it's about 170 euro's (if you are lucky and don't count shipping) If you want something like an Allo Shanti supply it'll be going be closer to 300 euro's Does the improvement gained with this supply mod fair against getting a (better) external DAC? I am curious if the gain with an external DAC would be the same or better than doing the supply mod

Do you get improvement changing the PSU only when using the inbuilt DAC from the Node2i or you can see differences when using the digital outputs to an external DAC too?

Ik vraag me wel af of de Sbooster nu vooral het verschil maakt of de modificatie zelf Je zou voor veel minder geld ook de iFi iPower kunnen gebruiken Heb ik ooit bij een DAC ook goede resultaten mee geboekt

Just to clarify, this is not a custom power supply but an interface card FOR a custom power supply right? You will still need to buy a proper adapter to hook-up your Node 2 to the mains after you do this modification

Hmmm, so you pay £75 to have the smps taken out of you unitNow that think about it-nahh!! Not Bluesound's fault, it's just that an external-type/better PSU should have been implemented from the beginning, somehow Every manufacture does it, I guess, but should we pay for their design flaws?
