Went to see a litter of black Labradors 3 males and 5 bitches We wanted a male and we each picked one up at the same time Mine, within seconds peed all over me That’s it This is the one He chose me by marking me the only way he could Had home 8 years and he’s the best thing we’ve done We didn’t buy a dog, we bought a whole new member of the family He’s called Cooper

I think breeders should change their "job" Too much misery out there, let people adopt shelter dogs, stray dogs and take over unwanted puppies My animals were all sent to me by God’s will and the only breeder pup I was offered in my life died miserably at my home because he was sick (had not been duly vaccinated)A traumatizing experience And puppymills are just a crime, I think

Adopting at a shelter is one thing, but it's sad to see some of these mass produced 'purebred' dogs lined up in little cages from the breeders greedy for more $$$ Please consider getting your forever dog / cat from rescue

I just went into Petsmart yesterday to return some food I got my dog They were having an adoption event there I went to pet a dog and every damn dog that was at the event just rushed over to me They all chose me L O L I kid I’m an animal empath obviously they knew that The ladies at the event were like wow every dog just came over to you And I told them that I’m an empath They said that’s pretty clear She said even this one the scared one came right over to you

I'm currently fostering a Rottweiler who was surrendered to the pound and rescued by a shelter I went to go pick him up and he jumped straight in my car the second the door was opened He's so full of love and life I think he would have gone off with anyone He just loves meeting new people I'm hoping I'll get to adopt him soon

When we adopted our dog, we were actually turned away at the first shelter we went to because they thought my brother and I were a new couple and we wouldn't last I tried explaining that we're siblings but they were pretty rude about it So we went to another shelter Zen was in an enclosure with 6 other dogs When she saw us she immediately got excited, but the other dogs growled at her to stay down so we asked the guy at the shelter to let us take her out for a walk She was so skinny, very clearly bullied by the other dogs brbrThat was 7 years ago It's crazy to think that if that first shelter didn't turn us away we never would have met Zen

I just adopted a new addition to my family today as well I named him Roofus My family and I had gone to the local animal shelter two weeks ago and saw him But at the time, we weren't fully committed 100 to having another dog and wanted to wait a while Today, we went back to the shelter and I had happened to have glanced at him and knew instantly that he was the one for me He has such a wonderful temperment and is just a little pup but has bundles of energy and is already getting into everything He also gets along VERY well with my pack of two dogs-Rusty and LadybugTHAT is most important to me! As for the messes and getting into everything, well, I guess I'll have to puppy proof my home by cleaning it up really well!

Reminds me of when I was 5 and on my birthday my dad took me to get a dog at the pound and there was a bunch of puppies in a cage, he told me to go inside and sit down and the puppies swarmed me and after 10 minutes I was attached to one, she was my best friend for 20 years and past in my arms
