The Micron GDDR6x is what ruined the 3080 and 3090 for miners, could have been way more efficient if they offered a variant with Samsung GDDR6 instead All those thermal pads and heat issues wouldn't have been, I guess no one is thinking about the environment :) Apparently Samsung has new GDDR6 that's faster than the GDDR6x in the current 30 series, so there's hope the higher end 40 series cards will have the more efficient Samsung vrams

if you flashed a lower power limit bios onto that asus card the power consumption would be lower asus just has that card less locked down than the base model evga 2060 that evga card has extremely conservative bios power limit

In HIVEos, when it displays "nVidia settings applied with errors" click on the error and a box opens telling you basically that maybe a setting is out of range (still works) or err card is offline

these 12 gb cards are probably old stock from GPU cores that were not as good, less efficient ect the memory could be playing a part as well but i think there is more going on with the cores

As the prices on the 12 GB cards have started to come down, I think these cards are viable options compared to the 1660 Supers especially after the merge Flux appears to perform pretty well for the price point

Out of a bunch of GTX 1660ti’s, the one with Micron memory uses the least power and runs the coolest Wish I had more of those than the Samsung memory ones, although they are pretty good

i have seen quiet a few videos showing 20 series cards doing only 40ish sols/s on FLUX Happen to have a 2060s and a 2070s My power limit is closer to 85 on each and im seeing 55 sols/s for 2060S and right at 67 sols/s for 2070s FYI these are my 24 hour averages Only difference being that i'm keeping things much tighter in terms of software Minimal lineup kernel, most basic possible display manager and miners compiled from source I know most people would think im crazy for never trying but i have yet to mine ETH for even 1 minute Used to be big on XMR and spread between some XMR and a large of my hash rate is going to RVN and FLUX

I can't get my 12gb to work in hiveos, it registers, shows up as device 1f03 like yours, but it will not mine Had to put it in a windows machine to get it to work, that's normally the opposite for me, I normally throw my cards that don't work very well with windows into a hiveos rig and run them with no problems

Still a good comparison I was looking at these gpus to get a few and decided not to I figured it was more worth it to spend the extra and get 3070's but they are just harder to find non LHR at a decent price For my 3080 12gb I had to run a custom command on HiveOS to update to a gpu driver that was not on the list on HiveOS I wonder if doing that would fix that minor issue of the gpu name on the dashbard and in the mining software I mean if its working its working so I guess it doesnt matter that much Thanks for the video

Yeah my EVGA 2060 with Micron 6GB gets 3206MH ETH at 80W 1100/2000 in HiveOS, but it tends to crash the GPU at that mem speed after a few minutes to hours, so I run it at 1100/1600 for 76W at 319 ETH
