I don't think the host understands Bitcoin when she says things like "Bitcoin is supposed to offer an alternative to traditional finance" That is total hogwash Bitcoin is not designed to "finance" anything It is designed to be digital cash that can be transmitted through the Internet without third parties Finance, on the other hand, is an arrangement of contracts revolving around lending and repayment Bitcoin prices fluctuate so much, people (either lenders or borrowers) would have to be total lunatics to do loans with such a volatile medium And I've heard George Gammon state he believes most people are so addicted to borrowing that it will prevent Bitcoin from becoming mainstream So Bitcoin, in no way, tries to be "an alternative to traditional finance"!
