Few comments on this video as a chiropractor : brbr1 : It is quite obvious that the extreme kyphosis is a consequence of the antalgic posture following the wood chopping accident brbr2 : on the Xray analysis : The xray is most likely well taken as chiropractors practicing Gonstead style chiropractic use X-rays as one mean of diagnostic and are proficient at it If the foramen appear different and a misalignment appear to occur on the R SI joint and sacrum, it would be considered for the medical community as a xray technical error It's because radiologist and generally allopathic medical professionals are only trained to diagnose gross injuries or diseases ( Scoliosis, apparent fractures, scheuermann disease etc) Chiropractors work with more subtle misalignments and lack of articular movements, well aware that they disturb and stress the nervous system So again, Xray is well taken and it's BECAUSE it is well taken that he can spot that the sacrum is likely rotated and misaligned, as well as L5 vertebra likely brbr3 : The movement he does is an adjustment of L5/S1 vertebra, likely putting much pressure on the nerve root, probably had a protrusion or hernia of L5/S1 segment It is exactly the reason the patient is able to reduce the flexion posture, easing the stress on posterior ligaments and muscles Appeared a bit rough, I guess it's because of severity of the L5 blockage and misalignment brbrOverall I like the fact that you took the time to do this video, but knowing that lot's if not all the spinal surgery procedures done on patients are done even tho the surgeon is well aware that the likelyhood of benefits is below 50 I find the surgeon quick to judge Chiropractors, especially exceptional ones like Dr Ian brbrYou don't know how many patients I have in practice that had their back screwed with metal plaques on multiple segments and are now almost unable to live a normal life And that was " evidence based " medicine Dr Ian or any skilled chiropractor could have most likely gotten the job done with no side effects brbrA bit tired of seeing medical practitioner being condescendant and judging work they simply don't understand Anyway, with so many Chiro's doing Y strap and ring dinger I guessed it was expected Would love to see the day surgeons and chiropractors understand each other's work and work together brbrPatients will be the real winners Comment from : François Marichy |
