I enjoy all of your videos I just started growing succulents and I like cacti the most I like how you give a lot of details as you’re showing us how to do things I just bought a Moon cactus I liked the color of the grafted part which prompted me to buy a pink moon cactus I didn’t know they produced pups and that you could propagate them I’ll have to find your video with the next step I think I agree with you You’re getting a lot of pups but the plant with the base and the Scion with all those pups Isn’t very attractive

I have one don't know it's name ofcourse, bought in a nursery and they didn't know the identification apps don't know as well I have a few those i bought in a nursery they never know the identifaction and apps are a disaster so each time i am clueless with what i bought🤔😃 The one i bought has a purple round cactus on top 😃 But i don't like it, i just found it special that's why I bought one

How long should we wait until we can propogate the cactus? Mine has been growing for 1 or 2 months and it isn't getting very big so how long till we can propogate? And how long do the pups take to grow on the mother plant

I actually just bought 2 of them today, I wanted the bottom to grow dragon fruit but they have lots of pups I want to try to grow in soil, I'm assuming the mother plant may die once I take it off but I'm going to try rooting that as well I don't have rooting powder so I'll be trying with cinnamon so we'll see how this goes

I'd twist off pups on a cheap cactus like this, but not on my more precious cacti That can create cavities which don't dry out well I'd slice with a sharp blade :)

With out grafted we would have to wait forever to see the potential of slow growing cati I like them grafted and no grafted Only with grafted you can catch potential problems before the cactus starts to rot The graft takes most of the beating so you are able to graft it again

Ana I'm kind of new now to growing cactus and you've taught me a lot of great tips and tricks to growing My question to you is I have an Arizona Cactus I bought from a guy traveling across country and have had it for a good 4 years now This cactus gives me a huge amount of pups and even pups on pups on Pups! Can I propegate a pup with pups growing on the original 'pups'? I've been watching for this on your site and others, and haven't seen it Have I got a unique situation? Thanks in advance

Ana I'm new to cactus I was given a few pups in December Never heard of using rooting powder or cinnamon so I just planted them in a pot of organic potting soil Will they die off or grow anyway? Please help Should I put my pot of pups in a Ziploc bag and watch for condensation??

Not a huge fan of grafted plants But I'm also sure it has saved me from rotting out my crested euphorbia But sometimes, particularly with the colourful moon cacti, I don't think they are meant to be long term plants, and I find it a bit wasteful They are pretty though

I have been told that grafted cacti pups can't be planted only grafted again onto another plant I have some grafted cacti they are called moon cactus plants and some have a few pups I'd love to remove but scared they will die if I try to remove them I'm not a lover of grafted but the I got em when I first started getting into cacti

I purchased a little inexpensive pot that came with some cactus seeds a year ago I kept in a ziplock bag and kept dampits been over a year and I have 3 babies that are only 1/4 of an inch How should I care for themdo they need more sun They are so little and fragile!?

And yes, what a great deal! All those heliosas!! And you saved the last plant from the clearance rack! Very cool Anna!! As far as Grafting goes, I like it for certain reasons If you have a plant like ubelmannia pectinifera , that is hard to keep on its own roots , it's great cause you can have the plant and not worry about root loss I tried to grow parodia werneri ( Notocactus ubelmannias) three different times all lost their roots and died I really love the flowers of this plant! So now this time I grafted it on stenocereus prunosus and got to see it bloom again this year thanks to grafting For me the Hylocereus stock used for grafting like the one you bought and I have too, are weak and subject to rot Like the ruby ball gymnocalycium mihanovichii , their stocks always rot and without the stock they can't live So they remain a short lived novelty I bought one 5 years ago , cut it off and regrafted it to the stenocereus and now it is huge , healthy and has even bloomed profusely a couple of times This year it didn't but continues to grow great!! brAlso grafting helps crested plants grow stronger cause the roots on crested plants are usually weak Yes I realize this looks odd or out of place sometimes, or may change characteristics But if you want it stronger and sometimes easier to keep Grafting is a benefit so you don't have to worry about losing a rare plant And may also stimulate the growth of offsets for propagation such as you have done in this great video😊👍!! Aloe vera works just as good as rooting powder, peel the leaf blend or mash the clear part and voila!! 100 rooting hormone for plants, great video👍
