Why Google doesn’t enforce developers to adopt the newer designs, probably because there’s a whole bunch of Devs making money off and earning bread by providing these features as customisation via apps on the PlayStore Forcing all Devs to adopt the new design theme would be to forcing other Devs of icon packs and launchers to shut shop Not a good sign for android and Google as an open platform

For anyone who wants icons to switch automatically when swapping between light/dark mode, buy an icon pack off the Play Store like "Pix Material You Light/Dark" Most Material You icon packs automatically change color as well as light and dark mode if you're willing to pay $050-$100 :)

I wish Google was more proactive in enforcing their new Android features They didn't even allow 3rd party icon theming in A12, and in A13 they just pretty-please asked devs to implement Same with the new photo picker and predictive back gesture; I was told it would be in A13 but turns out no developers tried to implement them Step up your game, Google, or don't advertise those features at all
