The first problem is that crypto started with the wrong foot by adopting a a Shares style Market Cap metric, adding volume into the equation would help however if this was adopted your can be sure bots would be used to trade amongst themselves to increase volume so the solution is not as easy as it seems

Don't forget that volumes are also heavily manipulated by CMC due to wash trading and other factors this is most apparent in higher market cap coins (especially BTC) in an attempt for an exchange to show higher volume (ergo liquidity) as a marketing effort

Hey Chico, (1) the assumption of the analysis is flawed here He is not counting the fact that much of the time Alts are traded against BTC (or ETH), and for low cap coins almost 100 of time, because there is no choice So, to be truly fair, he has to compare the volume of Alts with BTC/USDT or other stable coin only (2) The belief that Volume adjusted market cap is the true market cap has a lot of assumptions behind that can be challenged intelligently (3) But in the end it doesn't really matter, because BTC could indeed be 80 now, but it could fall to 50 or rise to 90 regardless This is neither good news nor bad news for Alts (4) Traders need liquidity, and one can argue even BTC don't have enough liquidity for serious traders So, there will be more of hodlers and less big time traders for low cap Alts, which is not a bad thing I trust your intellectual honesty, and really this is a fancy way of saying some/many Alts market cap is worrisome/nonsensical, which everyone knows (5) Also, if you had investigated if he was already a BTC maximalist or not, that would have been even better (6) Anyways, the value of your channel outweigh the # of present subscribers!

BTC "dominance" will always be skewed since most altcoins are only denominated in BTC on exchanges If I have to buy BTC to buy my current favorite Alt or I have to buy BTC to get out of my currently disfavored Alt, I am adding to BTC's volume whether I want to or not If every exchange dropped BTC as the base pair and substituted BCH or ETH, or USD or one of the stable coins, you would get a very different "dominance" picture I know I, for one, would rarely touch BTC in my trading if that option was widely availablebrAlso, the guy drops 33 of the top 100 coins and gets a 30 increase for BTCgo figure
