I think you don't notice ,Bitbox is practically the same as ledger as long as it permits to make backup of keys on a USB flash, as it is stated on their sitebrTrezit the same ,I don't know Cold card, but I think all the wallets aur gapped are secure and not permit exfiktration if keys ,but wallets connected by USB are not

So many overreactions, here are the facts:br1) It is COLD STORAGE device, aka not connected to the internetbr2) for the short periods of time it is, while actively using ledger, nothing can be CONFIRMED without actually signing a "confirm" prompt on the devicebr3) Nothing digitally created is 100 fraud resistantbr4) Anything that DOES leave the device, is encrypted in THREE separate parts

This ledger feature to extract the passphrase is awful, however I guess that any hardware wallet company can extract the passphrase from the device with thanks to a software upgrade The problem seems to go beyond Ledger
