In Canada 🇨🇦, as long as you did not deliberately lose it, you're not liable for anything The credit card is the property of the bank, so the bank is responsible for any misuse that you had no part in

Here in my Australia, you only have to tell your bank and they’ll do a small investigation and reverse the entire transaction within 2 weeks

I know this isn’t how it works but I really think every kind of card should require a passcode for every purchase That way if it gets stolen no one can spend any money on it at all Honestly it would be worth the hassle of typing a few digits to prevent thousands of dollars getting stolen

There are credit cards that make you pay when the card is stolen? Who does this? I've had Bank of America, Discover, Fidelity, NW and others and thats never been a thing You just report the stolen charges and they cancel them, no questions

Somebody got my kohls credit card number and used it to make an online purchase in Kansas City I live on the West Coast and I've never been to Kansas City I didn't find out for almost a month and a 1/2 I called Kohl's and told them I refused to pay anything We went back-and-forth for another 2 months But eventually they came around to my point of view and I did not pay anything

I've get fraudulent charges on a couple of my cards from time to time and never had to pay any of them All my credit card companies were great to reversing the charges, closing the accounts and getting new a new card in a timely manner The key is to catch the charges early and actively communicate with your banks/ credit card companies quickly

I had someone copy my card number down and spent $2250 on it I was not responsible for any of it I reported it to the police CC never notified me about a large purchase without a card I was not responsible for ANY of it I dropped that card because they let a large no card transaction go through and never notified me
