interesting I'm trying to figure out the cheapest upgrade to my gtx 1080 for my 3D rendering box I think just getting another gtx1080 to SLI would be a far cheaper and almost as good a solution than upgrading to the new rtx 2080ti

Great video It's actually pretty impressive how much the 1080Ti SLI outperforms 1080 SLI for basically a $300 difference Makes me almost regret not waiting for the Ti's to come out at the time I purchased my 1080's However, I'm sure if you re-did those videos with shadows turned one notch down or AA turned down one notch, you'd see the 1080's reach 60 FPS solid with no noticeable difference in visual glory during animation

Is it just me or does the quality of the YouTube clips at DF seem to be getting worse lately?, I'm seeing more artifacts like it's using less bitrate and it's only been like that for about a week or so, used to be quite a clean image before that, not sure if it's YouTube or DF but it's definitely worse my endbrbrYou notice it a lot with all the shimmering around the Frame rate and Frame Time boxes

For people that say "PC Master race" or "Console Peasants" and whatnot, Well, most people that buy consoles don't even know about gaming PC's, or even know what a graphics/video card is, they don't know at what native resolution and frame rate the game runs in, all they do is plug in and play, they don't even know about frame rate, maybe they don't even care about it, all they care about is that the game plays well, but those people aren't going to pay thousands of dollars just to play the same games that they would on a 250-400 dollar console

These benchmark sort of inflate the value of SLI It would be nice to get an idea of how many AAA games of the last few years don't support SLI properly The sad thing is that most games that support SLI and provide tangible scaling don't need it to run well in the first place The games that hunger for more GPU performance usually have broken or no SLI support at all

SLI is always interesting but I don't think I'll ever use SLI again having two video cards in my case looked nice, and sometimes the performance was great, but I found it was just too inconsistent for me I found out that in most cases the scaling was not worth it or the game just didn't support multiple GPUs which made my second card a nice looking paperweight When it worked well it was great though, it just wasn't consistent enough for me
