This does only vaguely looks / feels like a resident evil game with small hints to resident evil 4, veronica & re1 Just as resident evil 7 which was simply a live horror movie I will boycot his & wait for the remakes of resident evil Veronica & resident evil 4 Massively enjoying the remakes though I pray they reintroduce mercenary mode again I also sincerely feel they should not forget whole areas of the original game like they did in re3 At least put them in later as a DLC

I think it's good that RE changed it's direction from zombies virus to something paranormal Many will reject the new direction at first but in time gamers will accept it Imo it'd be boring if RE maintain its zombies stories after two decades without making theme changes

I have a theory that Capcom will use the hallucinogen infection concept from RE35 again, so they can explain away the obviously supernatural things in the game Like the insect swarm that somehow being able to form into human, not just assuming human shape like previous swarm enemies in the series Or that last shot of father Gascoigne with floating debris
