Why Bitcoin probably won’t be used ‘well’ as a currency (medium of exchange) An example;brIf a country has only 2 citizens, one a farmer and one a fisherman and those two citizens had say $100 for exchanging goods and services, they could probably make do But if there are 100 citizens needing fish and farm fresh goods but there is only enough currency for the initial two citizens, the other 98 citizens would be without enough currency to survive In short, a currency NEEDS to be ‘elastic’, but it HAS TO BE PEGGED to the population size of a country That example PROVES that bitcoin which is not ‘elastic’ can’t be used as a currency It can be used as collateral for payments over Lightning, but you really want to spend your fiat which is devaluing yearly and you want to save your Bitcoin, adding to it as you earn fiat Bitcoin is the world’s saving account Of course you can ‘spend’ it but you’d be acting ‘dumb’ if you did spend Bitcoin Comment from : Sandy Milne |
