Hey guys! Bear in mind that treasuries, beacuse they are government backed, are demanded by large cash pools and institutional investors since they need liquid assets!! However, if they simply held cash, they would face the risk of their bank going bankrupt That is why they are some are the largest investors even in a low interest rate environment; not for yield but for guarantee!
