Man this gave me so much chills as a New Yorker and a Jamaican, with my uncle who was there that morning but thankfully escaped The minute he got off the train and said "We're in Man'attan" I knew it was a yardie 😂 And him behave like every Jamaican man I know, all mi fada, uncle, and cousin dem lol 🇯🇲brbrI was 12 years old at the time and will never forget, but I ended up working in the new world trade center as an adult on the 42nd floor of 4WTC, with my office window overlooking the memorial and every day I just think what a normal day it is shooting the shit with the colleagues could go so horrifically wrong 😢 brbrThanks so much for this video JC Glad you're OK 🙏🏾❤

I worked in a high rise building (not in New York) and we had an annual evacuation drill This was before 9/11 so the atmosphere was genial However, in hindsight, the outcome of the drill was revealing We were given instructions like "people on floors 20-40 should assemble in Suite 2016 and await instructions " People on floors 41-61 should assemble in Suite 5600 After an hour of confused people going up and down the staircases trying to get to their stations, someone joked that the building would have burned down by now- we were not thinking of terrorist attacks- only fires I thought it would be better if everyone just moved out of the building in organized fashion- maybe by floors brbrYou can imagine the panic on 9/11 as people tried to assemble in their stations rather than immediately going down the stairs and attempting to exit the buildingbrbrI am curious what the procedure is in other people's buildings High rise workers- chime in- what is the procedure in your office or building? Are you supposed to assemble in the event of an emergency and shelter in place or leave immediately?

Wow all those people just doing their jobs like every other day not knowing the impending doom a year later so sad footage like this really brings it home that it wasn't just two buildings we all saw on tv but two buildings full of people some made it some sadly didn't I cant even begin to imagine what it must have been like for all the innocent people killed those on the planes those in the towers and the firefighters rip 🙏

When that building fell, it wasn't just debris of the building coming down It was all that office equipment, desks, printers, computers, ink, coffee machines, toilets, sinks, and human beings coming down, squashed, broken, ripped apart and utterly destroyed A horrible thing to think about

You don’t see workplaces with this level of happiness, connection & family vibes like this much anymore… & even their humour we can’t dare have like that anymore even though it’s a big part of what made happy environments like this so fun, happy, giggly & light-hearted Good ‘ol back & forths with no malice or even that kind of thought involved 😔😔brbrDoes anybody know who any of these people are & if any of them didn’t survive? Got my fingers & heart crossed that somebody who worked that floor can tell us they all survived or didn’t work there anymore but guessing the odds of that are slim? 😓😓brbrIn a way it’s such a shame at that time we didn’t have camera phones & digital cameras the size of wallets in every purse & pocket yet cause we don’t have very much footage like this, ways for us to really connect with & get a feel for the lives in there & what we do have, is low quality This is probably the best I’ve seen so far & the most heartbreaking 😓😓brbrThank you so very much for sharing this!!! 🫶💜

This company was located on floor 87 of the North Tower Dangerously close to the impact zone of the plane Their chance of survival was not great They were below the impact zone thankfully, however their close proximity to it meant when the plane took out the buildings central core, debris and partial collapses of the central core would have made its way down to this floor And if the core, which contained all the exit stairwells, was obstructed they would not have been able to get outbrbrEdit: I apologize EC I only ready your video summary after I made my post above Im so happy to hear you survived Were you in the building at the time of the attack?

I was a tourist at the WTC in September 1999 I remember there was a mall just underneath the towers I bought some hair clips from an accessories store, still have those clips after 20 years, they're treasured possessions for me, like a proof the place was actually there before the horror happened
