Whenever I get my periods I am barely able to even move at all on the first day to even get some water and ibuprofen from a few feet away due to the pain however my family (that’s full of girls) always says I’m over reacting br(A small thing to add is that I have a higher pain tolerance as I was able to be off of any pain meds after a surgery only a few days after)

My periods were so bad when I was a teenager I would get extremely weak, I almost passed out once in high school bc I lost feeling in my legs I went on bc at 18 to help with them and they less painful but I don’t want to take them forever, I actually wanna get off them soon but I’m afraid of the pain

Back when I was in high school, I had a bus driver who told me she only gets her parents for three days and she doesn’t get any pain She is so blessed I wish I was her daughter and get the same treatment😭

Everyone I know says that it's normal I am right now on my period and everytime I have it I am in gruesome pain, I throw up or sometimes I faint I get headeaches or my bones hurt and I'VE HAD THAT PAIN SINCE 9! Imagine a 8-9 year old child crying and thrashing from the pain

I was confused because before I had my first period I had really harsh pains in my lower abdomen, and my parents just assumed it would be because my period was coming I had my actual period a few months after that, and my periods are mostly painless No idea what was going on before I had my period lol

I live in the south, and you don't know how many doctors I've been to that have brushed me off when I bring up concerns over my period pains I can barely get out of bed I have to call out of work bc the pain is so bad, and it blows!

Yeah, imagine me telling this to my gynecologist, that's also a woman, that my pain gets severe at times Telling me just to drink a pill she recommended Lady, there could be something happening! The pill is just gonna calm the pain temporarily, not take it away completely I'm getting concerned about it, cuz I've missed work before because of the pain That's not normal 😢

I'm in med school and once me and some of my coleagues were talking about periods and I said that I almost never get crampes all of them were slightly surprised, one of them even asked me how do I know when I'll get it and I said I don't and that I always have tampons at my place

My last visit to the ER for pain and blood loss resulted in me being told, "you never know when it's TOO MUCH blood, it should stop sometime" After they ignored me screaming in the bathroom in pain while passing a uterus sized clot and bleeding heavily But it's fine because I don't know when it's too much, you know? What do I know? 😂 I would've been able to do the same thing in my own home without getting charged money and berated for wasting someone's time

I didn't have my first cramps until like September 13th 2022, literally 2 days before my 15th birthday and it was PAINFUL I cried for an hour till I had to actually go to the hospital and take a shot I got my period on May 29th 2019, I was 11 still and I have never felt pain Nowadays I take period painkiller pills so i don't have cramps anymore

I remember one time when I was in highschool I asked to go to the nurse during english class because I was close to lying on the floor in agony from cramps, I told the school nurse that I wanted to sob from the pain and all she said was "They only get worse" handed me a heat pack and some advil and sent me back to class Now as I'm thinking about having kids I'm worried I may have endometriosis or maybe something even worse :(

I think we should de-normalize too much pain, having cramps is normal, being bed ridden and puking is not normal, after I got my period I had to take extra classes every year of high school cause I'd miss a week every month, when I brought up my issues to my doctors they told me it's ok, my mom told me 'yeah I had a classmate in highschool who'd get sick and wouldn't be able to stand up, it's normal eventually you'll grow out of it" to this day I puke, cry, shake uncontrollably and have went to the ER multiple times to get pain killers, they still tell me everything looks normal

Yes! Too much of any symptom during your period can be bad I have PCOS, and my periods while rarely painful used to make me debilitatingly tired (not to mention they lasted two weeks and were irregular but still, that part didn't imapct my function lol) brlike i would barely be able to work my 4 hour shifts at my job because i was so exhausted and sick feeling during my periodbrbrnow that im on BC i feel so much better, i actually get more cramps but at least im no exhausted the whole time lol

The first few years my period was basically painless, and nowadays I have to spend an entire day or two in bed because I'm in so much pain and can't function anymore One time I even started puking and I could feel myself starting to shiver and like I was about to pass out, I almost called 911 even That was a horrible experience, really

Ive fainted a few times from the kind of pain ive experienced (undergoing treatment now but no real cause found yet and yes a lot of doctors have told me to just pop a painkiller before it gets too bad)

I have called in sick to work on first day of periods due to nausea, hot/cold flashes, pain, diarrhea, out of breath, headaches, deep muscle pain and the list goes on It just happens sometimes so I haven't gone to a gynecologist yet (at 25 years old Also scared to go since it would be my first time) Also my periods have 7-14 day variation still I had regular periods in Elementary school (around 12-14 But I remember after that they just never went to regular)
