Instead of human understanding, pure animal cruelty according to CM Instill fear in the dog through pain and bring him into learned helplessness And so many positive comments Guys, have you lost your minds? Luckily I've rarely seen so much bullshit in one go As long as people think that animals don't feel, animals must feel that people don't thinkbrThe guy should be locked up Methods from the Middle Ages Comment from : Dharma Academy |

I’m told not to use a slip leash for my recently adopted yorkie Their throats are an issue The vet advises a front clip harness He’s good when he’s not interested in a dog but he pulls very hard (for a 10 lb dog) when he sees the big dogs He’s not a dominate dog but has had a history of rough play with big strong dogs Sometimes I change direction or give a leash correction but sometimes I have to pick him up Can you help? Comment from : Gloria Jean |

What is the difference between a slip collar and a slip lead? Comment from : CarolP2045 |

I have a beautiful but reactive scottish terrier, I've tried everything, she's always been reactive with cats but dogs as well now, once off leash she's a happy little dog playing with all dogs, the minute the leash is on she's the tasmanian devil, I will try what you advise tomorrow and try to be a strong leader, I'm running out of options and I don't ever want to lose herps i just tried the slip lead in the street briefly we saw a cat and she got worked up but i asserted myself and turned her around, i felt like im choking her its not nice but i know i have to be strong now and get her respect Comment from : Vivien Melia |

I wish I had known about how reactivity starts a few months ago We got our dog as a puppy from a shelter (3 months old) with the intention of seriously training him, socializing him, etc He LOVED playing with other dogs and meeting new people and we live in an apartment complex so it was impossible to avoid others, particularly when he was so excited and who doesn't want to see a puppy? If I had known at the time this was NOT proper socialization ): We did puppy classes and some personal training with him to work on some of his behaviors (all positive reinforcement/game based training) and I told my trainer several times I was afraid he was becoming reactive and I was not sure why She never really responded to this Fast forward and I got a recommendation from a friend for a trainer who trains police K9s and service dogs His primary tool was the prong collar and he did not believe in any positive reinforcement (highly focused on corrections) It helped for a little but only so much - my husband and I were probably doing it incorrectly or something but we also had a hard time with it just generally We gave up on it because we were not seeing any further progress and he was pulling WAY too much/reactive despite it so we were afraid it was going to hurt him Now, his reactivity is worse than it has ever been To others he looks scary and aggressive and it is incredibly stressful living in an apartment complex We will hopefully be moving into a house soon - I hope this will help but it is just so disheartening when he is such a sweet dog to watch him slowly becoming aggressive (I fear) brbrAs a side note, I feel like dog training channels/dog trainers don't talk much about training and managing a dog when in an apartment complex Comment from : Cereline |
|
How do you make the slip leaf stay? Comment from : Kiara D |

He presents training in 7 days Each of 7 items are commands that he believes a dog should know They are presented in part ii of the book wwwyoutubecom/post/UgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq The parts of the guideare divided: part i know your dog part ii the seven commands part iii cures for 7 behavior problems Each chapter presents a topic, a dog's story, and a "what to do" It was written simply and you can jump from chapter to chapter to review anything as needed Comment from : Michell Schumacher |

I took on a 5 year old French bulldog who wants to fight every dog it lays eyes on Nothing works Personally don’t think the she can be fixed Comment from : Richard Jones |
|
I can see this working, but you need an accomplice, with dog, because usually other dog owners' dogs are also going crackers towards your dog, and that certainly doesn't help the situation Having tried many types of leads and harnesses, I'd like to know more about the one used here We really didn't see the process or know how long it took Comment from : musicalmarion |
|
this is my dogs only issue I'm having so much trouble It would have been better to see the before All the pulling and crying and aggression this really didn't help much Comment from : Lil jade |

I can't believe you got results in the few minutes of this video And without treats!brI could copy the training bit by bit but my Aussie mix seems to tolerate the corrections I have a choke collar from 40 years ago when they weren't frowned upon Doing my best to resist the urge to use it Besides dogs on our walks, we have lots of geese in the area They are a constant distraction Comment from : Bathizar Gupta |

Hi Will, I was wondering how you would handle a rescue dog that is reactive with barriers such as leash as well as any type of door or fence I an Fostering a Boarder collie Mix that we believe to be around 1yr old she was good with the dog She was with when I picked her up and now she is good with my dog I was comfortable placing her with my dog but I'm fining it a challenge to let her mingle with others any advise ? |
That was amazing how quickly you got the Tilly doing what you needed her to do 💖 Comment from : Caroline Tomkinson |
|
I've tried so hard to replicate this with my 1½ year old, but as soon as there are other dogs I cease to exist I wish I had people and other, calm dogs to practice with, because the occasional meeting on the village sidewalk, with dogs who are much worse than mine even, just isn't enough Comment from : Minjoph |
|
I have a puppy that I need to try this with He loves people, but loses his mind when he sees another dog It’s quite frustrating Comment from : merlinsusan1 |
