I used to be able to get tonsil stones out with cotton swabs and syringes, but my tonsils have actually gotten more sensitive over time Lately I’ve just been ignoring tonsil stones and hoping I sneeze them out, but I definitely want to try the numbing stuff

Ok, someone recommended squeezing the opposite hand and for me it worked! I also told myself “mind over matter “ and took a calming breath I got the big one out but unfortunately I noticed a small one further down that I can’t get to 😢

Not too long ago I was singing my ass of and one came out lol First time I realized what tonsil stones were Rn I can see one on one side sticking out that I found while using snapchat lol Haven't checked the other but all of a sudden I've been having horrible gagging all day long on and off for like 2 weeks now Idk if it really is the stone but damn man im tired of it At moments I can't even talk from how bad I want to throw up The weird part is I don't even smell it or taste it Well once in a while I'll get a very light taste but for a split sec My throat feels dry but I can breathe and eat just fine It's literally just gagging issues I'm having

Thanks! I currently have covid so my gag reflex is far more sensitive than normal I've got a tonsil stone that is driving me absolutely crazy

Salt water does nothing , mouth wash does nothing was gonna try the apple cider vinegar but mine went bad I have terrible gag reflex I'll go to Dr soon but I just coughed up three yesterday and still have one back there causing problems but can't get it to come out

If you use a numbing agent, be careful not to go after those stones too aggressively because you can do lots of damage without realizing it because you won't be able to feel it!

I can’t even reach tonsil by myself The only way is to visit ENTI gag severely even with numb spray so I’m afraid of going ENT and feel sorry for the doctor I was told it is psychological problem and that I can’t just fix it I tried every methods I found to remove stones myself and they didn’t work It’s really annoying to have tonsil stones and severe gag reflex both😅

No one talks about this but the cause of the stones could be from nasal drip from a sinus infection If you brush and floss a lot and still get them try cleaning your sinuses with saline nasal spray often to keep the stones form coming back

Indeed, and also the gag reflex is basically controlled by the hypothalamus of the brain Thus by placing a pinch of salt on the tongue, you can completely manipulate the hypothalamus and stop gag reflex

My wife brushes twice a day, but no matter what she does, she has always had preposterous levels of vomit inducing morning breath brbrI finally got her to take a small flashlight and look at her tonsils and just as I told her, the terrible breath is a product of tonsils stonesbrbrShe has an abnormally tiny throat (lol) and she even has issues taking pills because of how narrow her throat is, weirdest thing I ever seen brbrNo matter how hard I try, I can't get them dislodged even with a preemptive salt water gargle, because her gag reflex is ridiculously strong :(

My tonsils are so fucked up that I need to push tissue to the side to see the tonsil stones and be able to get them out Have to do it monthly, even with daily flossing, mouth washing, tongue scrubbing etc It's kind of fun tbh I use 1 clean cotton swab and dip it in mouth wash to push the tissue away and use another clean cotton swab, dipped in mouth wash to push the tonsil stones outbrbrWorks like a charm

Wouldn’t salt burn the shit outa your tongue?brbrI’ve used salt on those annoying painful welts that pop up on my tongue (fever blister) every so often and it works very quickly but burns real badGuess if you’re distracted by the burning pain maybe it’ll work for preventing your gag reflex
