Here’s the key here Once Tesla completes its journey to fully autonomous vehicles it’s stock will grow to $2,000 a share Simultaneously if they decide to use rumored AMD graphics cards for these vehicles that company will surpass NVIDIA for price per share I’m trying to find this information It’s also likely they’ll use their own Tesla silicone chip

I have a feeling that companies with more experience like intel or nvidia could build something better but I feel like it would be more expensive considering the 40 series RTX gpus Also the chip shortage could cause price rise

I agree We are definitely moving towards specialized chips more and more In fact, I'm using dictation on my M1 Mac to make this comment The speech-to-text processing and contextual analysis processing are being performed by the M1's NPU This specialized processor has 2048 arithmetic logic units -- analogous to CUDA cores Moreover, I can run large language models in Apple's proprietary format on the NPU at about 14 times faster than in Huggingface's format on the GPU And this M1 Mac mini cost well under $1000

think the real measure of the chips is relative to installed base of each, how many crashes and deaths have each been responsible for When looked at in that light, my hunch, based on real world news, is that Tesla comes out in a really poor light,

When you said tesla has their own chip I assumed you meant they designed their OWN core, (like intel, amd), but from what I understand they have instead made a SOC that utilises the cortex A72s, and therefore NOT making their own "chip", (in quotes to reflect the general sense of the word, as I have seen atleast) That seems doable right ? Atleast far far far more doable than making a core/chip ? Correct me if I am wrong Thanks

This spec is not impressive at all NVIDIA chip is general purpose chip yet Tesla chip is purposeful design ASIC which could only be used for video analytic Its performance should be even higher Plus, Tesla chip is not Automotive safety chip That is why it needs 2x chip for redundancy It wastes significant power by repeating the same task twice Hope their next chip will be better

The history so far regarding software on other car companies has not proven to be reliable or robust, Apple on the other hand seems to be a lot more sanguine in their ability to write reliable software so when they eventually make a car it should be the reliable Mercedes on the other hand have had issues getting their software to comprehend English spoken instructions so may well have other software problems

So each FSD chip @ 72 TOPS is operating in ASIL 26262 model which effectively is still 72TOPS total throughput Unless they are aggregating these chips ? Not surebrOh BTW: Jim Keller design the chip before he left

Please, don't mention nhtsa or other organization autonomous cars levels, because they are made from administration perspective, not user or how advance system is perspective brMost cars maker would make only marketing version of lvl 3, and go for lvl 4, because lvl 3 is at most impossible in real world, or extreme dangerous Because when you reading email, and car say you have to takeover in few seconds, is impossible to do it safely by humans brBut overall you do great videos, I hope more people will find you and watch and subscribe brPS I did expect different voice from you appearance, but it's nice surprise

What are the TOPS calculating exactly? Nvidia chips consume more power yes, But don't they do a lot more in real time? Electric cars first and foremost are not good for the planet so wattage means nothing except for battery consumption Not planet stewardship Runaway greenhouse on planet earth is 100 speculation and against what science actually tells us about a planet mostly covered in water and how a more green planet would be cooler But I digress Do you have a video comparing Tesla chips versus Nvidia in more detail? I am all for electric vehicles If they look nice Tesla is at least bringing some style
