Thanks great video for the UK switches, one question do I need a hub for the Aqara or can I just wire up and use the new generation Alexa? (not sure but think it has built in Zegbee)

Thank you for your video The Aqara were exactly the kind of switch I was looking for, with their ability to decouple from my hue lights, but also offer the ability to use the same kinds of switches for lights I don't want or need to be smart themselves Thank you! 👍

That's great info brWould you be able to do a similar one but keeping original switches and adding a smart "relay" or bypass box inside the wall that would act as a smart interface? Is that possible ?

Great video! I am also looking for a smart switch for control of blinds - so needing an up, down and stop And possibly a 'favourite' I can only find the moes ones at reasonavle price The Somfy ones are v expensive Any other ideas?

When it comes to smart switches you are nearly always better with a module and fit a retractive switch of your liking to control it That way you can have switches match other accessories, the only disadvantage is you need at least a 35mm back box in most cases

During the video it’s being mentioned that Aqara only supports 2way and 1way circuits However, I believe that Aqara should allow for more than 2 and 3 way if all switches are Aqara Would that be correct? brbrThe way I see it is that you can set those via automations, and Aqara would work via Zigbee among all of them Instead of working via hardware; it’d just need to be set up so that the devices talk to each other and a click means on or off As these work via Zigbee, they would not need WiFi connection to use physically brbrCould you please confirm? brbrCheers

This Electrickery has me baffled! I had Curv light switches installed in a cabin that was built about 5 years ago I am no longer in contact with the person who installed them and 3 of them have stopped working I am unsure what bit I have to replace and Curv don't do them anymore anyway Can you advise me what I can do, is it a case of just getting a different type of switch? Hope you can help

I started with the MOES smart switches Initially they worked very well, however when I changed my home router they were next to impossible to reset I wrote to MOES and they came back eventually with instructions, the problem was their English wasn’t great and the instructions just didn’t work! I am now looking at various switches to replace my houses light switches for the second time …

Why not also look at Zigbee (or Z-Wave) switch-modules (similar to Shelly modules)? Those can convert any dumb switch into smart switch, that way you can choose to use almost any style of dumb switch For dimmibg they need to be a push button (momentary button) though so need to be able to add a spring that makes it into such
