I know its nature but this was pretty hard to watch Chimpanzes will literally, hit, punch, & kick during their attack And they do it just like humans Plus their strength, the alpha male looks like he got a pretty good beating poor boy If it was because one of the male juveniles was trying agress his position over the alpha, wouldn't he do it alone? The young males try doing this even though not ready sometimes I don't understand why so many have to beat him up

He used to be the alpha male, but was exiled, upon trying to return to the group ,he was attacked and killed by the very ones he ruled over before leaving ! Chime have a very good understanding of the danger on making any attempt to return to the group ! They know that only 1 of a few things are bound to happen ! Hell be allowed in ,but only as a commoner so to speak, or hell be chased back out of the group ! And lastly hell be bitten and beaten to death!!!! In this case, his choice to come back, cost him his life !!

Did they end up killing him? Most of the time this behavior is seen when the alpha male is too aggressive with the females and the babies over and extended period of time Also, most of the time the group ends up killing the alpha male It's like once they've made up their minds, they follow through with it
