God I remember discovering super junior in like 2007 and dedicating so much of my time just trying to figure out who was who, and I can now only remember like half of their names 😅 same with so many other groups, blessed when I discovered translated profiles were a thing I don’t listen to kpop much these days but in my teens I was obsessed and it’s been great seeing the hallyu hasn’t slowed, but I sincerely hope things continue to get better for these poor overworked idols

Why don't companies take easy to idols? They just trying to create dolls that are similar to each other? The beauty is in idols with different appearances, voices and talents I wish companies wouldn't stick to beauty standards and training 30 hours a day(while we have only 24) Instead they would pay attention to health and capacity

I like K-Pop I like that every song is a whole production and there are so many talented artists at every level making the whole production work That isn’t just the idols, it’s the song writers, the clothing designers, the music videos, the choreographers and the people that coordinate the whole concept I don’t love the executives and I don’t love some aspects of the k-pop culture like the restrictions on dating and the rigid adherence to beauty standards In fact the beauty standards make it harder for me to like groups because if they are too close to the ideal, I honestly cannot distinguish their faces I thought at first that it was because I wasn’t used to Asian faces due to the lack of representation in American cinema, but that wasn’t it It hit me in the face once when I was watching a music video and the same exact nose was on three different members of a seven member group It was uncanny (I can actually recognize individual Asian faces - I can name every member of NCT and that’s a lot)

I started Kpop in the golden age, (yes I'm old) 2010-2015 and I stopped listening to artists until 2020 (pandemic) got me back into it Back than I went to Korea like 4 times, had the black hair, had the skinny jeans, enrolled in kpop dance classes, dated only korean men, had the characteristics 😂😂😂 it was a good time I dont think I could do it all over even though my fiance is korean he's sooooo American he hates kpop music
