I love borrowing against assets In 2019 I borrowed against my house and took out 85k American I bought about 20plus BTC When price of ETH went to 14000 sold all my BTC to buy ETH The ETH/BTC was 00195 Now the difference is 058 so I have made also triple my BTC and take profits along the way as I need to never exceeding 80k or so because I don't want to pay taxes and don't have to Gotta love those capital gains

I think you are wrong to completely trash Dave Ramsey I feel points he makes are valuable for the newbie starters trying to get it their initial footing and basket of equity The pay down the house was more valuable when I had an 8 - 10 mortgage Remember he starts with pay down the bad 21 debt first and learn from that And the $5 daily Starbucks and $10 cigarette daily will destroy your starter budget and ability to hodl

you can also borrow against your retirement portfolio the good thing about that is when you pay the loan back you basically pay yourself including interest and if there's downturn you get more for cheaper

I assume Hugo Stinnes took out loans on assets prior to hyperinflation No lender would lend in a hyperinflationary environment A home loan balance could be less than a weekly grocery bill brAnyone with debt during hyperinflation benefits as long as their business or employment income keeps pace with hyperinflation Hugo could have been a genius, or just highly leveraged prior to hyperinflation and ran businesses that were essential and income was sufficient to cover rapidly increasing costs A wage earner would be decimated in hyperinflation Wages would not keep pacebrI suspect government would institute price controls preventing a business from remaining solvent Look at what happened to landlords during covid

So, a person can pay tax on an asset sold or repay the debt they are able to generate against that asset by using it as loan collateral I hear this a lot but no one ever mentions that I'm on the hook now for x amount of money every month That goes on my expense column unless I buy an income producer to pay it off itself Any thoughts about this comment? thanks You say the money I receive as an asset loan is not taxed but it is taxed money that pays off the debt, no?
