Since the welder tig tip is continuously energized the pulse must be the high frequency to start the arc brI would think a scr type syncrowave welder could be modified to perform this way Comment from : spinroyd |

Cold welding is when 2 pieces of the same metal are joined without heat, typically in a vacuum as there would be no background gas or contamination Cold welding requires the surface to be extremely clean and is difficult to do terrestrialy because a true vacuum is hard to maintain, especially in a large area Pretty much the only time you're cold welding something is in space or on micro processors This is fusion welding, an entirely different process The terms are not interchangeable Comment from : Frederick, Consumer of Grapes |

You can do the same thing on 0293 sheet metal with just a standard tig welder on about 30-45 amps through a pedal You can pedal pump or have good technique with the torch and achieve the look without filler rod as well But tig welding thin sheet is pretty necessary skill for a standard welder You don’t need a special pulse Which is really common as well Just a standard tig welder and a pedal and some argon Comment from : Invitingsauce |

|
No, there’s no such thing as cold welding You’re just improperly welding it You’re not getting full penetration, you’re just creating a shitty weld that’s gonna break easily Comment from : TH9 |
|
Hi friend, its a nice video about cold welding I am soldering 05mm stainless steel sheet to thick brass I want to weld them together Whats your advice? Cold welding like this or something different? The confusion comes the fact that the term 'cold welding' is already used in English as technical jargon, referring to a very different kind of welding Most people do not take time to understand the difference Comment from : hxhdfj ifzir st c |

I am American and I really do like your welding skills you have with this cold welder and I want one to work with in my shop I have been welding for 47 years and I have never seen anything like this and I want to know more about it I REALLY DO LIKE THIS WELDING SKILL Comment from : Calvin Crabtree |
|
Very interesting and very well explained, but what worries me is the lack of penetration and therefore the strength of the weld I´m sure it has its uses I´m still looking for a welding machine with that auto spot weld mode that penetrates but doesn´t distort sheet metal It would be a major breakthrough in the vintage automobile restoration field, I wouldn´t need to planish the welded areas anymore Comment from : Sukhwinder singh lall |

Gostaria que você tradução em português sou brasileiro Gostaria de aprender essa técnica Comment from : Osvaldo Peia |

The concept is kind of a double edged sword in itself Clearly there is practical usage for such a cold weld but that's exactly what it is in a welding term sense the same way one might call a flapping component leg a cold solder The weld never got hot for long enough to truly create a molten pool which flowed and filled the entire structure of the material It is an inferior bond If it does in fact get hot enough to create this solid bond it's because the material is just that tiny and can no longer dissipate the heat as easily therefore making it extremely hot to the touch after welding brbrSo basically the marketing idea there is to somehow sell an inferior welding process as a feature This is strange because a very short pulse of twice the amps is clearly a useful and practical way to make certain cosmetic welds or adequate welds of fine material Some of the marketing just goes overboard and actually tries to show structural welds to give some impression they could bear real weight or force Comment from : Magneticitist |
|
Thanks a lot I am a beginner in weldingTIG and I learned a lot from it Your best clips You teach us the numbers of electric current and so on Most clips don't do that Thank you very much n my heart You are really a great teacher Comment from : عابر سبيل Passerby |

Clamp 5mm aluminium flat either side to act as heat sink, hold-flat, and torch guide Comment from : Yevrah Hipstar |
|
I don’t know what others see, but I don’t see any cold welding That’s tack welding and waiting way to much time to prevent the peace from warming up On thick plate the penetration wil be insufficient and inconsistent, to not talk about biblically long production time brAlso no back purge? What quality can this weld have?brSorry but I don’t see any advantage Comment from : PierDavide |
|
Can you tell me what machine is able to make cold welding as you in the video? What type and reference? Thank you Comment from : Philippe Raymond |

I definitely wish I spoke Korean but let's stay with English for now After watching all those Chinese videos titled "crazy welding", "China Tech girl" and others whom only do so and prompted probably by the cold welder manufacturers to 'promote' or 'peak' our curiosity into buying their "mystery cold welders" (let's face it, no Chinese does it to "enlighten us or for the 'fun' of it, with them there's always a catch), it's so refreshing to finally have an educated opinion about the subject from a knowledgeable welder such as you After watching these, I'm sure that most of us welders, would like to buy a Micro-Tig machine and experiment what this micro Tig process is all about I've been "itching" to buy one of those cold welders from Andeli in China but I always repent from doing so because a little 'voice' in the back of my head says: 'you'll gonna gamble your money into the unknown', specially buying from the Chinese and with shady warranties So, I don't understand why neither Miller or Lincoln or any reputable company doesn't fabricate a 'cold welder' since they've been on business forever What's the big deal of adding a timed spot "feature" to their already expensive welders? But if you could point us in the right direction according to the experience you have using these machines and their reliability, that could really bring us peace of mind, heck! At least we could find out which ones are not only reliable but long lasting and effective Much Obliged if you could provide any info & I'm definitely subscribing I've watched many of your other videos and this one with the proper English translation, really has made a difference Many thanks to your translator and your effort Comment from : Phoenix One |

Comment from : neoncell |
