Very well put together, but he didn't talk about the environmental effects of making mining rigs, computer chips, plastic, and a lot of the other parts that go into making a mining rig They are made in factories that produce tons of waste, and jump from producing for everyone having having one or 2 computers, to producing enough to support entire mining rigs, that is a big jump If crypto grows and we don't magically learn to not produce any waste to make the parts that's even more risk to the environment

Though if I remember correctly, they increase the complexity of the encryption process to maintain the rate of creation of new currency so given the value of the currency keeps increasing with demand and the amount of processing done is always growing, the amount of processing needed to mine a block is way more than is actually needed to run the blockchain
