I feel like so many people misinterpret ellie’s decision to spare abby it wasnt out of some random epiphany about revenge being bad or abby being levs joel but rather that she just didn’t have a reason to kill abby anymore Ellie spent her entire journey trying to seek forgiveness for joel through killing abby All the pain she had caused him due to her anger, had now turned into guilt for not forgiving him sooner She never really cared for avenging joel but rather went after abby due to abby stealing such an important moment from ellie Ellie never realized until she was about to kill abby, that she didn’t need to kill her She had to remember joel for what he meant to her, who he was rather than the pain he caused her I’m sure she still hated abby at the end but found a better way to honor joel and forgive him The ending gives joel the best sendoff within a video game Ellie forgives him and moves on from the pain he caused She finds something to keep fighting for dina, jj and in joel’s memory

As fucked as it is to say, even as someone who has had a decently full and colorful life of ups and downs, playing the game was sincerely just one of the most engrossing and memorable experiences of my freaking life, period Like for real Which is sort of wild It goes to show that whether it's a game, a song, a movie anything like that It CAN be profound how we experience it It can be more than "just" some entertainment or something frivolous It was a dear experience to me, very layered and meaningful

I used to say the Witcher 3 was the best game ever made but after playing and replaying TLOU 1 and 2 it change my mind and it's without any hesitation that is say this TLOU 2 is the best game ever made, they took everything from the 1 that was already peak and added new mechanics to make a true masterpiece

i just finished the game for the first time and i thought that ellie was going to kill abby at the end… and she didn’t and idk if i’m ok with that or not because when i start playing i just wanted to see abby dying but now, after playing with her and see her side of the story im happy that she didn’t died, but ellie, i still like ellie more because joel is joel, he was amazing, he did everything for ellie and the end scenes with ellie and joel talking, all the flashbacks of ellie and joel talking before he died makes me so sad… i never thought that a “game” would make me feel like this

The two games have some of the best music in media in general that just bring a tear to my eyesbrbrThe first game is just pure gaming perfection and game had never hit me emotionally like TLOF didbrbrThe second game is a difficult beast It's not everyone's favourite and in certain areas it's such a great game and and times genuinely pissed me off from a writing stand point But in the end I can respect the Devs for not giving the ending and story the everyone would have wanted Life isn't all fairy tails and roses and I did enjoy my time playing part 2 just not nearly as much as part one
