As you go up the category ladder the twist rates increase and the tolerance for a loss of twist at the terminations decrease The other thing to note is that Alien crosstalk (cross talk from adjacent cables) becomes more important as speed increases For one or two links alien crosstalk is a non issue For a bundle of 50 it will be more of an issue The other thing to note is that the specs are the minimum requirements There is nothing to stop a silicon manufacturer adding in extra DSPs and signal conditioning and other process gains to make their chipset offer 10G on cat 3 Just don't expect it to work in all situations

Cat 5e is fine over short distances - I have Cat6 and Cat7 cables but I tried 5e without issues brbrThe USB 3/c NBase-T adapters are fine for most folk, as the HDD speeds will be the bottleneck I have a couple of large SSDs in RAID0 which return 800-900MB/s 25GbE is sufficient for spinning disks

This seems like extreme overkill unless you are doing video editing or intense music editing (like with a hundred virtual instruments) over a network I can't see how this is a worthwhile investment unless you are a pro Fascinating nonetheless Good job
