I never went to school for art, I was pretty much always an artist, and I slowly improved over time I took art classes in high school, but that's pretty much it Character design is big on me too I don't really draw backgrounds either I'm old enough that I kinda remember a pre-Internet time, not really though I don't post to get likes, I just post because it's fun I try my best to step back from art from time to time, but God I just love drawing

This video, alongside your hand onebrActually really helped me find an Artstyle I actually enjoy drawing inbrI accepted that my hands are my weakest point And I really liked the square hands in your hands video (or chumby, idrr)brbrSo I intentionally sought out an Artstyle, that I could referencebrI reference Panty & Stockings Artstyle, but I still draw elements I prefer (like the hands aren't just like, fingers attached to the arms, and I, kinda draw the feet I also draw eyes differently)

The third one doesn't work for me bc anytime I want to draw a character or something, I can't bc I'm afraid that the character is secretly judging me for it bc since I haven't practiced drawing that character yet, I'm obviously not going to be good at drawing them, but I can't help but continue to be irrationally afraid lolol 💀💀

I have to admit, the character vs environments hit home I was in an anatomy class that shifted to environments in the second half of the quarter Now, I have always LOVED designing characters But, it turned out, I was WAY better at environments! And, I actually enjoy it more than characters brbrNow, I do environment concept art as a career I still do my own characters for fun and to break things up, though But, the lesson of the story is you may be surprised at what you enjoy and what your strengths are when you try new things :)

Tbh I can’t draw 90 of animals and I can’t draw cars and bikes and just vehicles in general Not that I absolutely hate it, I just suck at it I think I’m pretty good at drawing backgrounds and food I’m best at drawing people and props and stuff ☺️

I was also told in art school to “never draw hairy lines” as it shows that I wasn’t “confident” in my art Yet I was totally allowed to draw totally crooked lines and go back over them They looked the same but somehow they were always worse to me It almost totally ruined my art style Art school messed me up art wise Learn more from you! Hey, as a future person who watched these episodes, THIS ONE IS A LIFESAVER!! Not only can i flawlessly draw hands, but i also learned how to focus on what in bad at so all my art evens out and blends in without one point sticking out like a sore thumb I know how to catch people's eyes on a certain point and such Even though i may not flaunt it, its so satisfying to see what i can create
