I've been thinking of doing something like this with me old Xbox 360 Elite 120GB But instead of using standard mITX board and such my plan has been to use the motherboard etc from a gaming laptop

You never got the red ring of death because you had the later arcade model with the jasper board It was fixed by that point

Great design but would cook I remember having a small form factor pc and fitted a pci-e gpu and it always got so hot In time the gpu died brIt’s great for an experiment and a bit of fun but definitely not for a main gaming system you’d want some life from

I've already created a classic xbox with a pc inside, including PSU and video card, but I'm waiting for the next generation of AMD processors, to see if there are any interesting options with integrated graphics, as my plan is to create a pc-xbox360 capable of emulating xbox 360 5600G has a gpu that I consider very generous, and I hope the next generation has a nice onebrbrIn my opinion, the way forward is liquid cooling (so as not to have to tamper with the xbox's plastic case The problem is finding a radiator that fits You may have to build one from scratch As for the PSU, I intend to use the original one from the console

Ive have numerous 360s and not 1 of them ever had red ring guess im one of the lucky ones one of them i got from someone they swore it had a red ring got it home plugged it in and it worked fine had it for over a year no problems

Not enough air gets to the hardware, CPU and GPU run at 90°brThe graphics card doesn't get enough air because there is no space between the bottom and the fans, plus there are no holes in the bottom

It would be a good idea to create a Series S style opening above the cpu Change the direction of the blades or perhaps install a fan with a larger radius you will draw out that warm air, and create a subsuction through the sides I assure you that that CPU will lower its temp, including the GPU

That's the Jasper 2009 edition, when they changed the CPU and GPU nanometers from the OG 2005 versions and the 07 Falcon version They don't overheat much at all

My last build in Xbox 360 was Ryzen 5 5600G GT 1030 onboard, Nano ATXbrKeeping all the original XBOX parts, Blue Ray drive in the bay, NVMe and DDR 5brThe original cooling is not that bad ! I will replace it on next gen Arc onboard now, keeping all the original parts !brjust find a dead Xbox, move the old parts in it

Incredible project with great results!brI kind of want to build one of these now too, but at the same time don't want to be spending so much money on components Looks like it would be fun though A good way to repurpose a shell of a broken Xbox360, and we know there's no shortage of thosebrI already have an Alienware X51 which is about the size of an Xbox360 and also an Alienware Alpha, which is about 1/3 of the size, so not in need of another small PC, but maybe one day
