Just started having this issue after installing aftermarket brakes Made me look at my whole suspension and i had my outer tie rod shot, end links shot and ball joint was shot as well Didnt fix the issue but i need new rotors as well lol 200k miles on original rotors is quite something However this problem started with aftermarket pads as ive always used honda oem and never had an issue And its always the front driver side Im assuming its the brake pads as the clips and pads are all in one Comment from : Christian Montesinos |

My prelude did this after I replaced the brakes on the test run Turns out I didn't tighten the lug nuts down as tight as I thought I did Almost lost the whole tire I tightened the lug nuts problem solved Something to keep in mind though If they tell you not to worry about something in a new car that bothers youreturn it Get another car This particular sound makes me think it's a suspension related issue and could probably be fixed by upgrading to coil overs and if that doesn't do it upgrade the calipers pads and rotors to racing quality parts Maybe get new bushings and repack your bearings Check for lose tie rods and stabilizer bars If this didn't fix your clicking honda replace the transmission with 5 speed manual and stage 3 race clutch Maybe some upgrade axles At that point there's nothing left of the stalk front end really soooo I really doubt it will a problem Comment from : jason haugen |

My 2001 honda accord ex 23l vtec is making this noise now after driving it 19000 mi since i got it in april Had a front brakes and rotors fixed less than a month ago never heard this sound before Also along with it I noticed a crunching type of squeak coming from the same Tire in the front same spot as this clicking is coming from and a clicking sound when I hit the brakes when I'm going slow Comment from : Ashley Ashley |

This is not normal I had the same problem with a 2013 civic I worked on It sounded exactly like this video Long story short the parts store messed up gave me pads for a LX manual trans (1/8 shorter) I needed LX automatic trans Problem solved Comment from : PATRICK D |

To anyone with this issue try compressing your brakes by pressing your brake pedal til it gets hard and see if that removes the clunking, I did it on my Ridgeline and the noise has gone away Comment from : Miller |
My 2012 Fit started making this noise at 90k miles, and I'm freaked out I had the breaks replaced about a year ago, because it was much needed I see everyone is saying this is normal and to ignore it, but what if it is a different problem? I don't want to go to the dealership and get ripped off, but I am very worried Comment from : Tanya Baranov |
My 2017 corolla has done only 6000 miles It's brand new And it gives me the same clunking sound when I hit the brakes in reverse And Toyota mechanics say it's normal Kinda weird Comment from : Ali Mujtaba |

My new 2018 CRV had this click noise yesterday after I warmed up the carbrbrI will bring it to the dealer tomorrow and will let your guys to know what they say about it Cheers Comment from : Allen Shen |

Great video, especially demonstrating that this happens on direction change only (per the manual) After 20 years of multiple Hondas, I noticed this for the first time last week and it scared me I took apart the brakes, checked and regreased the pins, made sure the shims were all tight, pad material was thick Only to find that Honda states this is normal Thanks for confirming -- if I didn't notice it in 20 years despite being anal about car maintenance, I'm sure I'll be fine now :P Comment from : hdehal |
Our 16’ pilot does the exact same thing I figured the retainer clips/hardware were junk and needed to be replaced But I also knew there was no way they had already “failed” Weird part is I don’t remember the car doing that in the first 10k miles or so It’s definitely not normal though that’s bull No pad should have that much play Comment from : The Huxsters |
my car makes a similar noise & i can feel it under my feet Could you feel it as well? Comment from : Bailey Hellmuth |
So is the solution, new pads or new caliper? Comment from : Ron Dail |
This isn't normal lol #BrakePadHardwareFail Comment from : Nathan Spain |
The noise is caused by slacks between brake pad and bracket Check that the shims are good Comment from : Jake V |
I've been trying to solve this issue on a 2002 CRV Earlier this year I replaced the pads & rotors, the noise didn't start till a few months later Mine does not click as much as in this video, only after building up speed and applying brakes will this happen I ended up replacing two busted lower ball joints and sway bar bushings only to have this noise remain I'm glad to hear this is a normal operation, but i'd still like stop it from happening as it didn't happen till new pads/rotors were installed I might try better quality pads/shims Still looking into a solution Thanks for the video Comment from : ScooterDano |
