Hmmmmm So I have got hold of an old Sony All In One It’s great, i7-2670QM (upgraded SSD & ram to 16gbs A 1080p 120htz 3D touchscreen display It’s great! Except the graphics ‘card’ It’s got a GT 540MbrbrI wonder if something like this could actually upgrade the graphics to something a bit more respectable?

i havent watched video yet looked at first 2 commentsbrbrusb 30 cables are gimmik, the speed of usb is handled by the usb controller software/usb hub hardware so u can use a usb 20 cable on a usb 30 port and get usb 30 speedsbrbrhope this helps to clarify how usb worksbrbrbri am trying to find usb > pci (desktop gfx card), sadly what you have is not what i am looking for

I own a HP 400 G1 SFF i7 system, and also a full size 1060 3GB graphics card I combined the two by obtaining a PCI-E extension cable along with a SATA to 6 pin power cable By using a sheet of thick cardboard (no hot spots so not really a fire hazard, although I will try and find something less flammable) with 2 slits for the cables instead of the metal case top, which obviously cannot be used with this configuration, I can now use the card to its full potential, and it flies The card sits neatly on the cardboard sheet The 1060 3GB card only draws around 110 watts maximum under heavy load so the 250 watt power supply copes fine as the rest of the system only draws around 20-30 watts at the most In fact, I have 2 external hard drives connected and everything runs without a hitch With this setup I can test any number of graphic cards, well, low powered ones, although the system will still be able to run much more power hungry cards for normal every day use It is when you put the card under load does it require the extra power I might make my own video, come to think of it 😉

wow , used this for mining tests with a 2nd card years ago BUT it came with a FAKE blue USB3 cable thats just USB2, i connected real USB3 cable und i think performance was a bit better,

the molex on the adapter shouldn't have too much going through it, on PCIe a card can only draw 75w max from the PCIe slot

EE here, the molex cable has such a low impedance to catch fire you'd need to dump an incredible amount of current through it - more likely whatever chips are doing power regulation would end up torchedbrEdit - that's why the adapter got warm

I actually use this adapter for gtx 460 se for a different reason I have an old i5 2nd gen and I dunno if it's just me but every time I plug a gpu directly to the mobo, they all die within a month or two (the brand of mobo is Pegatron) We don't do any heavy gaming or 3d modeling/rendering to this machine (I have a another pc for that) I don't want to risk my gpu again so I use this adapter Yes, There was significant drop on fps even for older titles

But it only depands on GPU because RTX 3050 is one of the most strugling GPU on PCIe 30, the diference is there even if you use only the motherboard with PCIe 30
