when put my adapter in monitor mode, I lose internet I can't check the "Monitor" box I have to command line in Windows to change the wifi mode using C:WindowsSystem32NpcapWlanHelperexe Wi-Fi mode monitor not sue what's wrong maybe my card doesn't support both modes can you help

Im running kali linux on a virtual machine, I don't see the 'Wi-Fi en0' option in my interface options in wireshark, the only wireless connections I can make is to wlan0mon and there is no traffic on there, any advice?
