The WOW band, while only $5 is a waste, especially with drink package I had to keep taking it off and handing it to waiters every time I got a drink, especially in the pool areas So much easier to carry the card in your pocket

My only comment would be regarding travel insurance We recently learned thatThe reason I say that there are actually two components of travel insurance - one part that covers travel interruption/cancellation, and the other that covers medical and evacuation needs The interruption/cancellation part is 80 of your premium cost Why no one talks about this is beyond me, and HUGE kudos to the travel agent that knew their business and told us We now take out the medical/evacuation insurance every time We use a highly-regarded company called Tin Leg, which is a part of the Smartmouth insurance group

Their specialty restaurant plans are a joke brYou aren’t eating your MDR meal, so the optional food should be less $$ brOn the Odyssey we Went to 3 of them and they weren’t worth it

I like to get the specialty dining package on the larger ships (Oasis) that have lots of specialty dining options I get the Refreshment package now after reaching Diamond status with the included drinks perks Used to get the Ultimate Drinks package previous but its so expensive and value not there for me When visiting Coco Key, I found the provided beach chairs and food to be very adequate for that excursion but maytry the beach club at some point I cruise solo so nothing about the cabanas is worth that kind of money - may be a better fit for a large group I always book excursions and those are great value for cruises

I highly advise you to get the insurance The day prior to the cruise we had a medical emergency that popped up Thank goodness we had purchased it RC reimbursed all of my excursions, VIP pass, upgrades etc and gave us full credit for our future cruise (credit must be used within 12 months) Without it I’ve heard stories RC will not care what sob story you tell them Money well spent
