I know this is an old video, but I actually had this happen to an older PC of mine The only reason I noticed was because my keyboard lights were tied to my GPU temp, and when it idled I noticed the temp was shooting up which clued me in that a crypto miner had been installed

Social engineering is definitely the most important aspect of scamming I got a text message from a shady number that claimed to be my bank telling me to go to click the link I went to the link thru a different device and it was a phishing site that looked similar to my bank webpage Obviously i didn't put info in but i could only imagine how many grannies fall for this everyday

"Crypto mining" it's just hashing transactions, each time a transaction occurs its the "miners" who process it, and as a reward they get tokens, idk why people give the "solving problems" diversion
