I do a bit of the online auction thing, and while it's not FOR used magic cards, it's on one of my regular auto-searches for notifications While I HAVE gotten "good" deals once or twice, you have to be EXTRA careful Essentially if it's a bag, binder, or box advertised as "rares", you're pretty safe to guestimate your upper price based on card amount But the times there's only ONE page of cards shown (with only 1 or no rares), or a bag/box pictured with only the card backs showing, don't even waste your time, let alone money on it Guaranteed it's already been searched through for anything of value or even playablity

As morally wrong as it may be viewed, if someone sees these, those YuGiOh packs, or the Pokemon/Digimon repacks, I couldn't judge them too harshly for shoplifting them, or straight up trashing the product in the nearest bin off security cam Hurt the company in a way they can't hurt unconscious consumers Buying their packs reinforces them to produce more scam packs, and until Wizards, Konami and Bandai shut them down, they're just going to produce more deateuctive product

$18 for the cheapest pack you can buy is crazy I would’ve liked if you would’ve looked at the card list for that set to determine the absolute maximum value you could possibly achieve buy opening those packs You’d have to pull several top dollar cards to even come close to getting back what you spent

Target and Walmart carry them, but they're brought in by a third party vendor that has total control over what "collectibles" are brought in I'm not saying it's right, just that the stores don't have a whole lot of say in what they get

The entry level to this TCG and any other table top game for that matter is ridiculous anyways Considering that most games are card board at minimum and a small amount of plastic at best, which EVERY COMPANY seems to charge way too much for the average person to get their hands on the playable medium, much less spend hundreds of dollars for anything resembling something competitive It's a shame

Sadly this is not limited to MTG, It happens with a LOT of TCGs When I was judging for Yugioh, We saw this all over the place I've also seen it at my local stores for Pokemon Worse yet, they often had them at the check out counter so that young kids that don't know better see them and pester their parents who also don't know will see them and be triggered to buy them

I fully agree! As a ygo player I've seen these repacked blister boosters and they even have gotten dirty and repackaging the 25th retro packs(id rather pay 3100 and get 5 packs than pay 1200 for less) I'm only commenting here because as a fellow card player I understand this video and also enjoy seeing other game content and cross content (ygo x mtg)brIn these times of inflation and other things we need to unite as nerds 😁😍👻
