You have a bias towards developers I understand why, because your coming from a developer background I've been a DevOps engineer for 5 years now and I can tell you, coming from an operations/infrastructure background, it is easier to pickup DevOps practices It was for me anyway U would already have the basic understanding of networking, compute and supporting and deploying systems in general IT

Best way to learn and to advance is through practice I don't think there are shortcuts in transitioning to DevOps and you still need a decent computing background if you want to start from scratch with both Dev and Ops practices

Hey I just discovered this video/your channel I'm a Cloud Engineer (3yrs) I used DevOPs tools and humbly disagree with you on a few pointsbrbrYou don't really need to know a programming language I don't know any and I'm good Coming from an IT ops background brbrThere are several other options, sobrbrPowerShell over Bash (just my preference)brbrAll monitoring solutions/products are pretty much like for like, I've been in IT for over 20yrs and there all pretty much the same brbrGood video tho 👍

I can tell most Devops people were and still really are just developers They have no idea how to scale the app with cpu and memory usage networking storage and other basic infrastructure concepts are not understood So how are they Devops? They are still devs, ask them how many storage iops or throughput they may need for their deployment at scale they don’t know
