if some body has sold a contract he has no choice to close the contract unless the buyer wishes to close the contract This is impossible that there will be no buyer, that is totally contrary to the idea of open interest

buyers can not exist without sellers, sellers are the producers and buyers are the consumers Cotracts can not come from the thin air The person who sold the contract, how was his position got squared off ? Did he vanish into the air? This is a big glitch in the software

Sir, he was a put option buyer, why he was required to deliver shares when he has not exercised the option? Also if the SEBI mandates there is no exercise option when in the money for options is not it defeat the purpose of what basically the options are? why does SEBI call it options when it looks like a hybrid of futures with basic purpose to defeat buyers

All these problems can be solved by thinking of option buying and selling in terms of the lot size Lot size is there for a reason and you are getting into a contract that you will buy/sell that many shares If you don't have margin/collateral, you shouldn't even involve in this naked buying/selling Instead, you should do hedged positions

Sundar Sir or others here -- One qeven well before expiry if I am stuck in an illiquid ITM option, I would be running into the same risk isn't it? (Example : The option I buy has turned ITM 2 days before expiry, but I am unable to square off at that price as there are no buyers!!)
