I have sold things on Facebook marketplace and I cannot tell you all the scammers asking for my number, some my address as well in first greeting after "is this still available" Thing is, years before I had sold some stuff and looked up scams on Facebook etc so I knew it was a scam Those that ask for my phone and address I returned with, 'do you want any of my other vital details? Maybe my SS#?" Many of them contact minutes after your ad goes live It's like they sit there and wait Scammers can piss off

Id never fall for this scam 🙄 n i never leave my number on a selling site thats why i love the message section within the selling sites like ebay or offerup 😐 and if the fucker cant spell correctly thats already a red flag 😑 and u can lock your sim card from your phone so your phone number cant be ported to a different wireless carrier n i never use my real name in selling sites 😌

I recently posted a table for sale on FB marketplace and was surprised at the first dozen inquiries asking for this code I of course got suspicious and googled their text to find out about this scam Good to see you warning people about this

The funny number you gave them was also one two many numbers They asked for the 6 digit code They knew it was only 6 numbers not the number you sent You might've caught them if you just realized the number you sent was too long

After posting a craigslist ad I may have fallen for this scam I received the text, I was sent the 22000 and sent it back via text only I did not use the included website The texter kept bugging me to send the code even though I texted it back twice Did I actually send the code since it appears the scammer never got it?

This just happened to me today! Twice on Facebook marketplace! I actually sent them the code They said it didn't work Asked me for a son, brother, husband's number!
