The features of Bitcoin you list are still true for Bitcoin even if people use Lighting as a way to spend with it This seems to be what you're missing, unless I'm wrong In other words, fundamentally your bitcoin has all those features at a 'savings account' level, but if you want to spend it in a convenient and cheap way on a day-to-day basis, you use Lighting, and forfeit those core features for that small amount of bitcoin for that time that you're using Lightning Am I missing something? All of the amazing features of Bitcoin are still there Lighting is just an efficient tool

Interesting The UX facts you mention as in present day are 100 correct Traditional means are generally more reliable, usually faster, simplier, and more stable than bitcoin However, there is currently more third party risks in those systems, in a way that today censorship is easier to apply there Also, those systems are less efficient, for example there is a big overhead cost in remitances (moving money across countries, and doing the currency exchange) But for everyday local use, I agree what you say in terms of user experience brIn terms of self empowerment, there is no discussion that today bitcoin is much better than traditional means brAs of the predictions you make for the future of bitcoin, with a huge lightning network, with a lot of bad actors, those predictions might be fulfilled, but they are just predictions that nobody can take for granted Also you can say that in the future the user experience and reliability of bitcoin lightning network will be much better than today, but that is not certain What is almost certain is that bitcoin will still be the protocol we know today (anyone can run a node and open channels, etc), because changing it will require too many actors to agree I can compare this to changing the US constitution It may happen, but is very very unlikely brI do think that bitcoin is good, but I love to listen and read other reviews Cheers!

Other problems: 1) When a random user joins the network, he must provide all the funding to its channel(s) Thus (1a) he must lock in advance enough money to cover all the net payments he intends to make; and (1b)cannot ever receive through the LN more than he has previously spent through it This means that (1c) statistically, the "fringe" (newest users) will tend to spend more than they receive, while the opposite will be true for the "core" (oldest users)
