I feel like what I really like about the Green Drone's super laser is how pretty much changes how battles are fought, like in an arms race To specify more clearly, I feel like the 'traditional' way of having fleet combat in space favors having lots of armour and guns for prolonged fights Also, shields are used in a way of trying to tank more hits brbrHowever, the Green Drones go to combat with a different and probably a more modern approach; ending a fight quickly So the Drones favor maneuverability and firepower over armour (and mostly shields, probably because of energy requirements) to win a battle in one shot Speaking of shields, while they still are used for the reason given up above, it's more or less turn into trying to tank ONE hit brThis 'doctrine' if you will is heavily based on that super laser as:br1) it can only fire in one direction (therefore the need to maneuver well),br2) takes time to charge up (so it essentially has to hit-and-run),br3) in some cases out range the enemy,br4) they can deal much more damage in it's firing time than something like a Vengeance can in same amount of time (so you could sneak up on a enemy and end the fight before they even know you're their, proven in the escape from the lava planet) brHow they deal with smaller craft, they've dedicated resources to carriers, fighter swarms, and the smaller drone swarmsbrbrThe flaws in this way of fighting are pretty clear The GDA Destroyers tend to light up like Roman Candles if they take any substantial hits (seen multiple times in Colony Wars & Lost) because their lack of protection and many energy stores Even if that doesn't happen, when their laser is taken out, the Destroyers pretty much useless in ship-on-ship combat, making them vulnerable to fighter attacks before they get into firing range The later GDA Destroyers that have shields don't really have this issue until the shield fails A minor one is that the laser only fires in one direction, making them vulnerable to being flanked and in brawling fights, but this is somewhat addressed by their maneuverability (as seen in RWI Tigris's first battle against one in Colony Lost) brbrIn summary, there's a lot the super laser that makes this part of the Colony series so interesting to me

Did anyone notice it was hinting at the retern of a old crew member before we even saw craze after he got captured as it's a 10 player survival but there was only 9 player 6 survived and 3 joined them so there was 9 not 10 players and they sed craze was captured not killed
