casco is the perfect name for northern New England! I go over the casco bay bridge daily and think it's funny that it's named that even though the casco bay is so much larger than what the bridge covers
Comment from : Sasha Gallaway

In the south, you ask someone, "Do you want a coke or something?" The respondent answers with a soft drink name: "Yes coke is fine" Or "Do you have Diet Pepsi?" Change Diet Pepsi to whatever
Comment from : Marie Jackson

Marie Jackson
What is Florida? Scribble?
Comment from : Marie Jackson

Clean Eggs & Jam
Many of these maps are hilariously inaccurate (no one in the South refers to carbonated soft drinks as "Coke" for general term; we say soda) The presence of so many global maps in a video that includes both "Maps of the US" and "the Country"
Comment from : Clean Eggs & Jam

Krystal Sparkle
Grew up in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin Madison is a very liberal city A majority of jobs in Madison area are connected to either the university, UW Hospital, and some factory industries too I grew up thinking everyone was a Democrat and Republican were either religious or rich rich But I was in for a rude awakening when I went to Whitewater for college I met people from all over the state that grew up on farms or northern stick that had a very different view of what Wisconsin motto Forward means Whitewater was purple on that map I bet
Comment from : Krystal Sparkle

The Madison WI political situation is because Madison is VERY liberal and a very spread out metropolitan area So the areas you think of as country are actually suburbs and most of them identify as ‘part’ of Madison in many ways

Comment from : ArchIVED Cinema

That philly jersey sandwich anomoly is due to the popularity of wawa, its also why in the language data set map the same area is the only place whete the term hoagie is the term of choice for a particular type of sandwich
Comment from : Robert Quinones

The Red Sox fans in Idaho are likely because Billy Buckner (of 1986 WS and letting the ball through his legs fame) lived in Idaho/Boise after his playing career, and was a major local presence -- owning car dealerships and being involved with local events

The employer map for our state (Washington) seems wrong I googled it and it seems Amazon is a bigger employer (90k) and Microsoft (60k) is the second employer Boeing is the number three (50k) If you ever visited Seattle, you know it seems everyone works for the tech companies
Comment from : Ali Khosro

andrew b
Those few rural areas are the ones who for whatever reason actually received benefits from some program that normally only benefits "city folks" Typically any government benefit is not extended to rural areas Why vote for a candidate promoting public transportation if the nearest bus station is 90 miles away?
Comment from : andrew b

Joe Stevens
These maps are wonderful Many maps of 48 states call it a map of the US We need a better name for the "lower 48" other than that Contiguous states is cumbersome and Continental states would include Alaska Many maps that show 50 states have Alaska at a different scale I've seen a map of the 48 with Alaska superimposed at the same scale and it puts Ketchikan AK over Florida and Attu Alaska over LA Oh, and part of Alaska is in the EASTERN hemisphere making Alaska the Easternmost and Westernmost state I grew up in NC and loved the ones you did on that You have to really be picky to find something you didn't cover Great job!
Comment from : Joe Stevens
