@letticiadenis850
How would you go about this with a 12 man family house tent?
Comment from : @letticiadenis850

@EdwinDekker71
Hey YT removed my previous comment so I'll try again I wrote the poolfloat is brilliant and that I once used part of an inflatable couch 😂, next part is probably why it got removed so I'll re-word it: tyvek is great for groundsheets Thanks and greetings
Comment from : @EdwinDekker71

@lesstraveledpath
My favorite way to determine wind direction is to find a spot to build a fire, and also locate the most comfortable place for me to sit next to the fire The prevailing wind will blow the smoke directly from the fire toward the place I most want to sit
Comment from : @lesstraveledpath

@mavric1177
could also grab an air speed gauge and test before and after the shelter is made, but I'm sure the cooling effect of the ground is doing a lot as well

@odgreenoutdoors20
Cool , somehow I missed this video when it came out, have you noticed that all bug net’s aren’t the same? And the mesh in tents , I have a wise owl hammock bug net that completely stops light breezes , I had to take the thing off and haven’t used it sense Hammocks are nice summer set ups
Comment from : @odgreenoutdoors20

@daphneraven6745
Dave, You never have to apologize for taking time to explain a principal that’s going to serve us well That four minutes that you spent explaining that, are four really well spent minutes brbrI haven’t seen all your videos, but as of right now, I can honestly state that you have never wasted a minute of my time when you stop to explain things so that we all understood thembrbrThank you for this video, and for taking the extra time to explain things It’s when we understand the principles that were less likely to lose out on an opportunity to apply them later in another situation
Comment from : @daphneraven6745

As a female I been that I could use a one or two man sun shade that u can use in the beach it is water and wind safe easy to just pop out and its up this is an emergency use and would take the thinking out if hiking and its light weight so with that said what is ur opinion on my idea If need be I'd work on a stick house if I need a longer time in the woods
Comment from : @debbielicona5030

@octobermoon9
This was fun to watch and very informative, Dave, thank you! When you first crawled into the tent I was saying out loud, "Take the toilet paper, Dave!" LOL

@glentucker5819
I added this comment to your use of a fan to help keep you cooler in a video you put out 5 years ago thought it might be useful to viewers todaybr I use a 12v dc and a 120v ac fan with an inverter for camping My 12 v uses about 12 amps and my 120v uses about 50 amps with the settings made to give about the what feels like the same air volume So if your power constrained the 12v might work better for you Around 4 times more Of course the details of your components make all the difference This is just my experience Hope it helps I just realized this video is 5 years old It played right after you recent video

Comment from : @annfisher9566

@laffilmfest3759

@jasonscreativeadventures3900
Awesome! Got any tricks to keep mosquitoes and bugs away from your camp area?? I live in iowa The more hot and muggy it gets, the worse the bugs are And we have tons of poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac brWe don't have to really worry too much about large predators But are forests really aren't all that big for the most part Iowa is mostly farm land lol CORN AND LIVESTOCK!
Comment from : @jasonscreativeadventures3900

@sugilitegel6208

@sharzadgabbai4408
In extreme temperatures ; both hot and cold, a few degrees have meant the difference between life and death A tea candle in a tent, umbrella ( it’s not just for rain people in spite of mocking comments) in the sun have saved more than one person brNature is full of microclimates and eco niches fine tuned by critters from soil bacteria to wooly mammoths We lost body hair to literally outlast game fleeing until overheated Those people noticed EVERYTHING and were super focused ‘ in the moment’
Comment from : @sharzadgabbai4408

@mendyviola
When using the TP trick, always make sure is unused TP 😂 just kidding One other trick is to go to bed with wet hair (works better if you have a lot of it), and also a damp (not drenched) shirt There are also neck gators that are cooling when damp Evaporative cooling on your skin works even when it’s humid
Comment from : @mendyviola

@samsonchazbak5387
Samson saysbrAs always you gave great ideas and a great video Dave However I think you missed one important tip When I go camping I always take a long a small window air conditioner I also need a long extension cord, a really really really really long cord Some people tell me "that's just ridiculous" ! ! But I say if it was good enough throughout time for the native Americans it's good enough for Samson ! ! 😱🙄🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣
Comment from : @samsonchazbak5387

Comment from : @jimmclam

@Thes564
Dave,ever try to sit around a camp fire but try to sit on a side were the wind isnt blowing the smoke in your face but within a few minthe wind direction changes so you have to move and sometimes it seems to be never ending as the wind just keeps changing direction ? Well i would hate for that to happen with your cool tent set up here but has it cause it would suck to keep having to change the tarps around ?
Comment from : @Thes564
