i think, x8 pcie gen 3 bandwidth not even being full saturate for most applications and also the games breven x16 only being full saturate if you transferring a giant file at one time via pcie lanes for example, an raid card, and an ethernet card (usually 100Gbps ethernet card), can saturate x16 pcie lanes while transferring a file via raid card or ethernetbrbrso x8 bandwidth is not a bottleneck or a limiting factor Comment from : @dwikiramadhan7332 |
when its only using x8 lane and still get higher benchmark score than x16 Comment from : @shiro214okane |

Sometimes broken things can't be fixed :( Comment from : @muranziel |
Haha, I wonder what one'd conclude after seeing more of those cards Maybe chips have burnt out stuff all the time, so manufacturers just build in redundancies? Comment from : @DailyFrankPeter |

Just bought a "reconditioned" 1,000W PSU from Amazon Thrown in a box with no pads Four screws thrown loose in the box Two were binside the PSU/b One fell out after violent shaking and the other appeared magically days later br---------------------------- bInside the PSU!/b ---------------------- Comment from : @tomjones4318 |
I am so impressed how soldering chips onto a board works so "easily" I didn't know that the solder is adjusting itself onto the contacts with that grease through surface tension? or the coated PCB surface repelling molten tinbrBefore I was watching such repair videos I thought a computer component with a broken chip with hundreds of tiny contacts beneath it could not be saved anymore without a machine from a fab brbrI also want to give you props for your clean work Comment from : @Thundereus |
😮 Comment from : @gm4210 |

Might you share how long this repair took in real time hours? My guess here is, that the time you spent repairing was much more expensive than just buying a new card :/ That is, if you collect hourly wages Comment from : @ChariAUT |

This is art ,cheers bro and thanks Comment from : @vosternikus |
This inspired me to go reading about x8 and x16 lanes - I think I'd be very happy that the card was working again, given the marginal performance gainbrAlso - hats off to your level of skill! I've dabbled with soldering and repairs on and off (I had some decent level of training 40 years ago), and this is a whole new level I found the checking of pin levels and the whole 'ack' side of things most interesting too Comment from : @paultreneary |
Everyone would have just returned the card like yeah bro its x8 and not perfect but doesnt really matter anywaybrbrNWR german's side: Hahaha bro, no Comment from : @thearminius1 |
You guys dont know this but the card came in back for warranty repairbrThe controller i used to swap died shortly after so i had it replaced with new and it never came back againbrLesson learned i guess Comment from : @northwestrepair |
so why was the core running at half speed? is that a factory defect? Comment from : @ReconTechBF3 |
What I'm getting from your videos is that basically any graphics card can be repaired if you have the skills and patience to do it! Comment from : @bebeusxl9842 |

You are a wizard loved the pasta maker Comment from : @halicon7475 |
I don't know if anyone mentioned it here in the comments, but my guess as to why line 11 went dead on GPU package itself is the breakage of solder microbeads between it and the die (a very common occurrence, as you know), and it may have been caused by you, actually, just like that blob of solder on the PCIe contacts Comment from : @AntonYadrov777 |
Hey ! What is the programe at 3 : 28 thank you ! Comment from : @sainthdi291 |
