Wow! I can't believe you had Gus goes to Cybertown and Allies Playhouse! Those were two of the first CD-ROM games I ever had for PC Back in the early 90s (1993 I think) we bought a CD drive for our computer and it came with a bunch of games for kid's Gus and Allie were two of them and I actually played them quite a bit For a kid in the early 90s they were fun It also came with a CD with Eagle Eye Mysteries/Peter Pan a Story Painting Adventure and another CD with Eagle Eye London/Scooter's Magic Castle And I played the heck out of them too! The only game out of those that still holds up imo is Eagle Eye Mysteries I may be crazy but I could see it working as a tablet game I think kid's would still play it, especially if they just gave it a new coat of paint to make it look more modern but kept the same gameplay Comment from : @HerecomestheCalavera |

Everyone keeps saying don't use discontinued OS or browser because virus attacks Why would a virus creator want to target an OS or browser no one (hardly anyone) use? LOL There should be no new virus for Windows 98 or XP LOL Comment from : @BryanChance |

Isn't it simplier to use retroarch for emulation on XP? Comment from : @thegamer1072 |

Did not find the one old pirate genre game, i dont remember name
brContext: You have to protect the gold bar from being stolen by pirates, you have to click and interact with scenario to help you like waking the guards up to attack pirates and collect offensive items, clicking on the pirate while they are running which gold make them drop and stun briefly, and holding the click and charging, can make them fly out map, also there is item as bomb and torch to attack pirates Also there is scenario destruction feature, like burning trees and drying the lake water empty Was very fun one
brIf someone remembers it, please reply thk you
br
brFar i remember, the game was included on windows default game, together with ''kung fu kim'' Comment from : @XcrazyjapaX |

Because whenever I load them into the emulator it keeps on asking for it to be some sorta autoexec thing Also I highly recommend DeSmuMe for Nintendo DS emulating as if I remember correctly it ran pretty fast on my Windows XP Machine Comment from : @KeatonGamerYT |

I remember checking the DVDs and CDs that came with game magazines in 00's, and they usually had TONS of shareware indie games, some of which were really good I wonder if 90 percent of them will be forever lost in time, due to no one caring to update them to the modern systems Comment from : @InsidiousOne |
|
You're not emulating the greatest European game machine out there, the Amiga! Boo sucks to you! Comment from : @Foebane72 |

Or just hookup a modern card and rig to a CRT VGA monitor with a display port to VGA adapter That way you can emulate all the older PC games and console stuff easily Most games like Doom, Quake, Half Life, and Crysis run butter smooth on the lowest end modern GPU I can play Crysis on high at over 60fps on my RX 6400 Tbh, it's still a pretty demanding game lol Comment from : @Clos93 |
|
I just saved an old HP Compaq Mini C110 Laptop from ending up in the Garbage and it have XP SP3 on it and Im trying to resurrect it and turn into a Little Retro Gaming Beast, your video just made my desire for it become even wilder so THANK YOUUU my friend :D !!! Comment from : @raaventhered8548 |

in my circle of gaming friends i was the last using xp, and couldn't let go, especially when some game i loved didn't work on win7, same happened with win7, everyone was using win10 (we all skipped win8) while i was last one using win7now everything works almost perfect on win 10 22h2, and i'll probably be the last to use win10 while others will move on to newer stuff 🤣😂🤣 Comment from : @Bijuklich |
|
Now you can run an operating system in the cloud even down to sound cards etc Comment from : @jefferyleaver2847 |

SOME INDIE GAMES DO WORK ON 32bit XP! Hyperlight Drifter works for me So do SteamWorld Dig 1 & 2, Punch Club and Titan Souls! Any DX9 or OGL game compiled for 32 bit theoretically should work Win 7 had a 32 bit version so there might still be some newer games that would work as long as they're OGL or DX9brbrbEDIT/b ALSO, the 64 bit version of XP might be better supported if you have a 64 bit capable machine I think the entire intel core 2 quad series CPUs were 64 bit compatible However, you must go through shenanigans to activate 64 bit XP Comment from : @_ch1pset |
|
I bought a laptop strictly because it had XP running on it I use it strictly for playing non-steam retro games on it Comment from : @jerryprice5484 |

For Nintendo DS emulation you should have used DeSmuME It is a little bit more resource intense but always had more compatibility than No$GBA, which struggles to run even simple games like New Super Mario Bros DeSmuME is also easier to set up and should play all your games without any extra settings, while No$GBA often will require patches and AR codes to boot most Pokémon games - good luck finding all of those ancient patches and AR codes, most of the sites and forums hosting them back in the day are defunct and most DS ROM collections onlines only offer Clean ROMs Comment from : @bluestar5812 |

I found only games that some think need the CD in the physical drive just need it in the first optical drive alphabetically So force a change on the optical emulator or use B: if you don't have a floppy drive in that slot I find that has solved all my problems with the games I ran I was using DaemonTools though Comment from : @AberranTouchstoneFox |

Glad I stumbled upon this Just a few things to note, or tips really I own a rig with a Celeron 420, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, no dedicated GPU and just 80GB for storage For PS1, you're better off with ePSXe, even with my specs it can run some games in 2x resolutions Another thing you missed because it's a niche inside another niche are arcade emulators, especially those based on PCs that ran XP Embedded, and for those you can either grab, say, a Sega Model 2 emulator since it's based around PS1 hardware and even supports the same plugins ePSXe does, also runs full speed for me, or try an older version of Teknoparrot brbrAlso, you CAN still install Steam, but many games have been patched with 64-bit executables or now rely on something that requires at least Windows 7, sadly One game I can confirm that works is the original Devil May Cry 3 release, but an example that no longer works, or I did something wrong, is Half-Life 2, a shame really Comment from : @xGMV |

Chips challenge!!! Omg I remember that as a kid and forgot the name thank you so much I forgot how much I loved that game Comment from : @numasmatics1549 |

Retroarch works pretty good on windows xpbrBest psx emulation for xp is epsxe or psx brbrI know SSF older versions work well for saturn emulation on windows xp It just needs a system with a core duo or core 2 duo to run fullspeed Athlon series cpus at 3ghz works also Comment from : @waterheart95 |
|
The Z67 and Z77 motherboards supporting the ivy or sandy bridge CPUs were some of the last to support XP and have it setup on a dual boot with an i7 3770K which is probably one of the strongest configurations possible while being technically supported I don’t use it online for anything, even basic web browser as it’s easy to get compromised on XP but keeping it offline to run some old games and for emulation purposes is fine I actually had no issues with the old versions of Dolphin 40 on this hardware configuration Of course not as good as current versions but playable Comment from : @Edmundostudios |

Another good option would be PCem or 86Box for 16 bit software Not quite xp era but ideal for Win95/98 stuff, really accurate And If you don't want to mess with XP another great option is running old windows games on linux with Wine A lot of games that would be broken on modern windows (too much speed, missing and broken graphics, etc) work great on Wine Comment from : @Guilleackass |
|
the next update for chrome is not support for win7 a week ago since i update it and theres always a pop up about it everytime i open chrome Comment from : @riojulio9650 |
|
I'd love to see a video like this made for Windows 7, since it's right about to have support ended for it It's a shame, because while it's definitely still a more modern OS, so much about 7 still holds up and in some ways is better than Windows 10/11 Many 2000s games run with less bugs on 7 actually, and having a Windows OS that holds up but doesn't have any Microsoft telemetry (until they added it in a late update, eugh) is fantastic Comment from : @fanb1536 |
|
Man i miss windows xp's UI and Jingles Shame on microsoft for not adding retro themes based on wxp for windows 10 Comment from : @Lonemadmight266 |
