Don't have a problem working late as long as the hours are paid brAnnualy paid employees are paid by the week a fixed amount, these 15 minutes early in the morning, 15 minutes late in the evening add up 625brbrWith annual pay raises staying in the same position at 1 to 3 , you're not getting back that money Comment from : Charles-Antoine Gagné |
I was rolling my eyes at about the 40th minute mark What I think Simon fails to consider is that the "unprofessionalism" the Gen Z seem to exude may stem from them seeing their parents or older siblings being mistreated at work Companies no longer care about their employees — especially the ones at the bottom of the pyramid Change needs to happen from the top down, but what I'm hearing is that Simon seems to expect change to happen from the bottom up Comment from : JD B |
I don’t like how this man generalises Gen-z as if they are all the same TikTok viewing and lazy Comment from : MultiEmmey |
It's true that not many people might commit suicide due to hunger but it's because they don't have the strength to think about that stuff Check out the "1945 famine Vietnam", my country, you will see suicide is so fancy and it only happens for those who don't need to worry about food anymore brAppreciate your sharing, but next time, try to talk from a global perspective rather than a "developed country" one Comment from : Tùng Lete |
How do you sit down and listen to someone who is doing wrong, again and again and totally ignore everything you advised? It's common sense what is wrong and what is right but there are people who, everything will fall on deaf ears and they keep doing the same thing they want which is wrong Comment from : FussyFuzzy |
Im in love with this guy Comment from : Marita Hartmann |

I loved this, very insightfull! Comment from : Alan Simas |
This is a fascinating segment, and I find Simon Sinek's perspectives as clear and insightful as ever; on the topics of mindset as privilege, Generation Z being probably the least resilient generation I'm a millennial with a smart Generation Z on my team, and while I agree with the point about their resilience, it's safe to say that it really depends on the individual's mindset and personal circumstances For some, resigning is an easier solution than navigating troubled waters in a highly demanding work environment Comment from : MasseraNarrates |
I don't mind working hard But, 6 to 7 day weeks doesn't feel like working to live, It's living to work I want balance and can't get it now Comment from : annmarieknapp |

On mindset it happens by degrees; like cells dividing; the ‘privilege’ is everyone’s, choice and how we focus and direct our increase/mindset/degree/choice and prioritizing Comment from : homevestures |
14:42 my personal advice is make the mature choice for both of you and leave them they always grow Comment from : Justin Kiarie |

The employers are often lacking in skills of consideration of their employees’ lives… why would we expect Gen-Z to stick with employers who do not care for their employees? Comment from : Laura W |

38:25 thing here is, are they being compensated for that Saturday? Remember, me and other Gen-Z have seen companies turn employees into nothing but spreadsheet numbers for layoffs because the top didn't want to cut their own wages We've seen how unloyal companies are to its employees, so for instance why would I give smth my all if the company won't? Show the employee that you ARE willing to keep them around and reward them properly for it, and they will be more likely to be willing to do stuff for you like coming in on a Saturday, staying late, etcbrbrAnd on the topic of quiet quitting, it's more like you pay me say 20 an hour for xyz, but a and b are paid at 22 an hour and you want me to do xyz AND ab for 20 an hour? no Pay me accordingly It's doing the thing you're hired for, and only the thing you're hired for Comment from : Anym |
Gen z is weak and moronic Blame the parents and government for making it about race and not personal responsibility The west is full of a loser mentality Comment from : Adam Anderson |

This guy is so detached from reality To think traders joe's is a survival job when it doesn't support a single person, let alone a family He has lead a very privileged life that has allowed him to live a different life than 90 of us Comment from : Kahtah |
😅 I think there's many people who don't have a problem with helping others these days, and that's all they do, and it hasn't made the world better because they haven't learned how to have healthy boundaries and love themselves Nice message, but its very idealistic Comment from : SaharaOfTheDeep |
On the topic on young people do not endure stress well compared to older generation, and they keep quitting at their jobs As a young person, I always wanted to find a job I could stick with and make it my life's work I have quit several survival jobs, even jobs in the health care industry because my goals don't align with why I am dedicating so much time to build this other person's dream and company I want to sample different work cultures and gain work experiences in order to find the job suitable for my unique skill sets In the pursuit of the purpose of life and one's life work, is it considered weak-minded to gain work experiences in the fastest way? Considering our work culture of 9-5 or even 12 hour shift work didn't really exist back in the days? And the time people used to dedicate towards work is either family related or for a cause like war, stocking up on food before famine or winter hits Comment from : Andreea Ursula |
I disagree that your 'Why' is always being set in childhood and is always positive Your 'Why' can be based on more than childhood experiences (Eg The cancer experience of a loved one in later life)brAlso, unfortunately, some peoples' childhood experiences can create bigger 'why not' fears that hold them back more than the positive 'whys' that propel them forward Also, some people have revenge as their negative 'why' Comment from : WholeArtEd Art Classes |
I hate the idea of having to work beyond business hours in order to succeed and climb the ladder If one is efficient, not schmoozing during work hours and getting the work done, why must they be penalized with more work? Comment from : Kim Nana |

Human skills is responsibility of parents/ primary caregivers Its a reflection of childhood neglect to be blunt Its also a reflection of a society that undervalues parenting and overvalues being shaped into an employee/ tool of production Comment from : Yerushka Chetty |
We must respect that alot of us are attached to victimhood mindset We want to be listened too, we want to be helped but we can't let go of our victim identity that we feel lost without brbrWe will cycle in the same mental mess no matter what meaningful advise and opportunities we are exposed to because that mess is somewhat also comforting as much as it is unbearable brbrMany of us have suffered extreme abuse or traumatic events and every right to feel like victims but unfortunately doing so is keeping the wounds open and our nervous system on fire until we let go and fill our thoughts/mindspace with something new and not with repititive justified negativity towards everything and everyone brbrMost people are afraid of the emptiness when there's no negativity in their mind there's no blaming the world brbrWe need to be brave and entertain those empty moments and give our nervous system a chance to recover and heal and from there there could be a physical shift towards more productive actions Comment from : Yerushka Chetty |
They're talking about mindset, but I think what he's really getting at is resilience And there are psych studies that show that how resilient someone is can be effected by genetics Or the epigenetics of trauma Trauma actually effects our DNA and its effects can be passed down to the 3rd and 4th generation Research of descendants of Holocaust survivors shows this So one can actually inherit resilience and be predisposed to recover better from hardship and maintain a better mindset about it, in addition to the cultural capital of what they've had modeled for them Comment from : Jenni Hayward |
That mainsail hoisting analogy was brilliant, thank you What an amazing conversation! Comment from : Syncromanic71 |

41:40 genz doesn't want to stress themselves so that their bosses get rich some companies already notice that and allow them to believe they have a good life now all that ig and this other new social media shows is that we should have the retirement life today how wrong is this? Life is not supposed to be all fun, but they don't want to be explored by those accumulating capital Comment from : D Soul |

Words from a boomerbr Yes I know many of you despise us but think about the following Boomers & Gen X, I believe have failed to prepare you Like our parents did for usbrbr1 Go outside, take a walk and look at the world… not your phonebr2 Please learn to say please and thank you, and when you do, say it so the other person can hear you br3 Try standing and sitting up straight, you'll be thankful in 40 yearsbr4 It’s ok to hold a door open for other people, manners are a sign of respect to othersbr5 Please read, 1984 and try some of the classics, you'll surprise yourself (hint, Tale of Two Cities, Lord of the Flies, The Grapes of Wrath, Pride and Prejudice, to name a few)br6 Try listening to music from another era… yes the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s etcbr7 Try watching “All in the Family”“The Jeffersons”, “MASH”, " Mary Tyler Moore", "Mission Impossible" "WKRP" the list is endlessbr8 Try watching vintage movies, even a silent movie, watch Barbara Stanwyck, Lauren Bacall, Richard Burton, Sydney Poitier, Gary Cooper, try watching TCM ( hint Rear Windowyou'll love it) br9 Please try thinking critically Please don't believe everything your marxist university professor tells you or believe what you hear on TikTok Read between the lines THINK for yourselves Do research and look at other points of view Please stop quoting sounds bitesbr10Above all, please please please STOP GETTING OFFENDED BY EVERYONE and EVERYTHING!!!br11 One other thing, develop your sense of wonder about the world and use your imagination Imagination is one of humanities greatest traits, please don't waste it brWe live in a world of unimaginable opportunity Grasp it, it takes HARD WORK, but believe me it so worth itbrIt’s ok to smile and have some joy in your heart and life😊brYou can do it ❤ Comment from : Rob Smith |

Hey can we stop demonizing the job hopping way of life? People only do this because their current employer doesn’t treat them as well as a new one could If you want loyalty, make sure you have great salaries for the current market 🤷♀️ pay/treat people better and they wont leave Corporations arent loyal to us They view workers as temporary Why be loyal to them? Comment from : tevans_ art |

Why does not the older generation (gen Y,) accept and appreciate gen Z as they are and change their behavior or manage (if a boss ?) just my concern Thanks :D Comment from : Rose & Rose |
