i watched your Windows 2000 video but one thing that you didn't talk about was that Windows 2000 was the first version that you didn't see the blue screen of death all the time Because it was built on the NT technology I mean everybody used to joke about the blue screen of death I remember one time I left my computer on for holiday weekend and came back and it was still running I was so amazed at that

Its definetly nostalgic, at least for me I've been messing around with an XP VM for the last month or so, and while it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling, it does lack a lot of the QOL features from windows 10 and 11 I still love it to death though

my adventures with computers literally started with a windows xp computer my dad brought home from an office god how much i miss that OS every time i get problems with windows 10 and onwards, i get reminded of XP having close to no issues i never reinstalled windows xp, nor had to reset it meanwhile windows 10 had to be reset 100 times a year because it bugs itself out so often that it ends up breaking the installation all together miss xp

Xp was okay but I wasn't impressed, but For some reason I love the new look of Vista ! Vista was an early window into 7 and 10 and 11 and ran good if you had a quad core but if you were poor and just upgraded your 5 year old XP system, you were hating it It even got better over time after some early bug fixes and more drivers were released I felt like XP was a polished 98 But vista was the opening of doors into the future! IMHO Vista was hugely underrated

I am 2 years late to this video so no one will see this comment in all likelihood However, I still run XP on the only Windows PC I have that I use to run all my old games It is not connected to the internet at all so I am not concerned with security It's just an incredibly good game station The fact that I got my copy for only $10 when I was a student at college makes it even more of a win That makes my Windows XP machine cost about 50 cents a year to use the license to this point in 2023

My very first laptop (a used one from my parents) ran on XP I got the thing for my very first essays and powerpoint presentations using office 2003 Mind you this was about 2 years before I went to highschool around 2011 or so Never had any problems with it

Heck, if XP was secure and could run everything I wanted it to; I'd still rock it A control panel that is so simple that it doesn't need a freaking search box - a sound subsystem that isn't tainted by DRM that ruined sound cards I would probably tweak the UI though XP always looked childish - I just wish that didn't taint basically every modern application Everything looks like a freakin iPad app now It's a desktop - it's ok to look like a desktop In fact - it's preferred

I am still using windows xp to this day, and it is quite easy to use even today The only thing is to not do online banking or any sensitive stuff on it but for other things it work well

Mi eXPerience was pretty different I was fed up of formatting my PC every 6 months, due to XP is a farm of trace's programs, viruses and pop ups; I tried Windows Vista in 2007 and the most beautiful thing that caught my eyes was the TRACKING of non desired executables On XP were hidden and you wasn't able to kill them From Vista I didn't need any kind of external antivirus It was a bit slower than XP, but the stability of system was also better (less blue screens) NEVER wished come back to XPbrbrDifferent points of view

I didn't upgrade because I had my system exactly how I wanted it, with data and software I couldn't afford to lose I just disconnected it from the internet and bought a laptop for the upgrades I love my XP to this day 😊

the only (")useable(") computer in my household with a dvd drive is from god knows when exactly, but the sticker on the bottom says somethin about windows xp professional 2005 or something to that effect, and the dvd drive is important because ive got this cd with some seemingly proprietary files that likely only the proprietary software on that cd can turn into the necessary images to show to the physical therapist to give em an idea of the specific ways in which my spine is shit

Not just for younger Millennials, but XP had more first-time users than many of the 9x OSes because computers really came down to a price point people could afford, regardless of which generation they hail from So, this is why there is such nostalgia Microsoft really tried to simplify the UX for users, it lasted forever compared to other OSes, and things were far simpler We were not tied to our devices like we are today brbrAs much as I was a "silver" usermost desktops and laptops I had I reverted back to a 9x look The Luna interface often hogged too many resources, but having used hand-me-downs, was a student on a budget so only got base models, and for me my nostalgia hails back to the 90s, not the 00s Vista turned me off to Windows, Windows 8 kept me away (never experienced Windows 7, but my parents loved it), but I slowly have been warming up back to Windows since having to use it as a part of my job as of last year Now I'm constantly on our IT guy, I want to upgrade my workstation to Windows 11 because that's what I use at home 🤣

My first ever personally built computer as a teenager had a copy of Windows 2000 installed by a school license from a friendly school technician Once you had all the service packs, it was basically Windows XP minus the UI and bells and whistles I can kinda see why they decided to make ME, as there were a lot more compatibility issues just on 2000 at the beginning of xp's life cycle, so I could imagine it was way worse at the beginning of 2000's release It makes sense they would be decide to release one more 9x consumer facing OS while ironing out these last kinks for the mainstreambrbrThat being said, 2000 literally was good enough for consumers besides the price Very quickly more and more software was compatible with XP (and therefore 2000)
