Thanks I've been fighting this If you have also been fighting this:brbr1 Uninstall guest additions & shut downbr2 Go to Help-->About and make sure you are using the same version of guest additions in the installer as your virtualbox version Run the installer and it will tell you the version on one of the first couple screensbr3 Go into settings and enable the setting shown in the video for the display adapterbr4 Boot the machine and install guest additionsbr5 Reboot and View-->Enable Auto ResizebrbrYou can play with the windows and and stuff Took mine a few seconds after logging in, but now it works right

This solution didn't work for me for version 706 r155176 In fact, the max resolution went down from 1600x1200 to 14xx brbrDon't recall the popup screen shown at 1:48 into the video Wonder if that is part of the cause

is it possible to force the virtual machine to 1920x1080 and have the window really small so the virtual machine is always at 1920x1080 resolution when changing window size but obviously the same ratio as well
