Thanks for mentioning that mint is invasive when planted in the ground I'm doing container gardening, but stuff like this is always good to know, so I don't inadvertently mess up not only my backyard but all my neighbors' properties near me as well

@rosedowling3690
Had to laugh I am still trying to get rid of mint that was planted by previous owner 15 years ago I gave up hahahahahahahahahaha
Comment from : @rosedowling3690

@TheLordofBacon
I’m actually purposefully filling the bottom of my small raised bed with a little bit of organic material which I intend to break down and extract nitrogen from the soil because I’m starting my pepper plants in a nitrogen, heavy soil mix to increase foliage growth at the start of the grow So that later on when the stuff starts to break down, it will remove some of the excess nitrogen from the soil
Comment from : @TheLordofBacon

@revk8611

Comment from : @HummingbirdButterfly

@Livetoeat171
It looks as though you're in a tropical area I wish someone from the northwest of the United States would report about potted Plants in our area, because in the summer it gets extremely hot, and in the winter, it gets cold, so suggestions from people in the tropics are seldom accurate for everyone as they have plenty of time for growing season In the summer of Boise, Idaho, It will get above 100° for three weeks straight so you really have to protect the pots and not let them have afternoon sun at all so every pot you put in your patio has to be moved to the shade by 1 o'clock in the afternoon or they will die The sun heats up the roots in the pots
Comment from : @Livetoeat171

Comment from : @careyware4634

@LaRa-youknowit
Question about the containers, I know you have to look for the recycling code number 2, but at Lowe’s the small little plastic buckets that you can mix paint in, which obviously don’t say food safe, but they have a recycling code number 2 I wanted to know if I could use those safely?
Comment from : @LaRa-youknowit

@LaRa-youknowit
I live in Florida zone 9B, I want to start some containers in my yard, I was considering putting the containers on top of some thick rubber mats that came out of my horse stalls If I lay them in the grass and they put the containers on top of them that way the grass won’t grow up around the containers I know the rubber mats are not food quality but they will be at the bottom Do you see that as a problem?
Comment from : @LaRa-youknowit

@nathaliej3768
I have been composting in an old semi cracked storage bin and I never thought to check if the plastic used was food safe (as I intend to use my compost in the growing season) Thank you for pointing that out and thank god my bin turned out to be a safe plastic!
